The anOrdain Model 2 is a field-watch design built around a vitreous-enamel dial, offered in two case sizes and three movement configurations. Its appeal is unusually tangible: the dial is made through an involved craft process, while the rest of the watch keeps to a straightforward steel field-watch format. The choice comes down to whether that dial and anOrdain’s independent-watchmaking character justify the price for you—and which size and movement best suit how you wear a watch.
What is the anOrdain Model 2?
anOrdain describes the Model 2 as its field watch. The current product page specifies a vitreous-enamel dial on copper, a brushed 316L stainless-steel case, sapphire crystal with three layers of anti-reflective coating, thermally treated steel hands with Super-Luminova, and a screw-in caseback. What makes the enamel dial distinctive?
Vitreous enamel is not simply a printed or painted color. The official description identifies the standard Model 2 dial as enamel on copper. For a specific Model 2 Green Fumé dial, the GPHG entry describes enamel layered onto a domed, hand-hammered silver disc to produce a gradient. It reports an enamel depth ranging from 0.4 to 0.15 mm and notes that working at those fine levels requires skill to prevent cracking. The distinction matters when comparing dial variants: the standard product description establishes enamel on copper, while the GPHG account gives a more specific explanation of one Fumé dial. Neither source establishes production time, rejection rates or output volume, so those figures should not be assumed.

Which Model 2 size should you choose?
The current product page lists a 36 mm case and a 39.5 mm case. Their lug-to-lug measurements differ by 3 mm, which is relevant because the distance from the top to bottom of the lugs can affect how a watch sits across the wrist. Diameter alone cannot determine fit; wrist shape, strap choice and personal preference matter too.

These are the dimensions published by anOrdain for the current Model 2. - Consider 36 mm if you prefer a more compact diameter and shorter lug span, or want the listed 18 mm strap width.
- Consider 39.5 mm if you prefer a larger dial and case presence, and are comfortable with the 46 mm lug-to-lug length and 20 mm strap width.
Those are starting points, not a guarantee that either size will fit a particular wrist. If possible, compare the lug-to-lug span with a watch you already find comfortable.
Which movement option fits your preference?
anOrdain currently lists three distinct configurations. The key practical difference established by the product page is whether the watch is hand-wound or automatic; it does not provide comparative accuracy, service costs or power-reserve figures for these options.

Search-result displays for anOrdain’s product page showed £2,245 + VAT and £2,745 + VAT for different configurations, accessed in 2026. The source does not establish which movement maps to either figure, whether both remain available, or what the final destination-specific price will be. Those stated specifications do not by themselves establish suitability for swimming, and the available warranty information does not set out exclusions or service terms. Confirm the brand’s current guidance for the intended use rather than inferring more from the rating or warranty length.
