How to compare the Series 11 configurations
Choose a case size
Apple announced Series 11 in 42mm and 46mm case sizes. The right choice depends on your fit and display-size preference; the historical deal prices differed between the two sizes.
Compare GPS and GPS + Cellular
GPS-only can track workout distance, pace, and route using the watch’s built-in GPS, but communications generally rely on a nearby iPhone. GPS + Cellular supports calls, messages, notifications, and streaming away from the iPhone when used with an active compatible cellular plan. The plan can add a recurring cost, so weigh that expense against how often you want to leave your phone behind.
Check the case material
Apple announced aluminum finishes and polished titanium finishes. The historical deal report does not establish that every material or finish was discounted. Apple says the aluminum models’ Ion-X cover glass has 2x more scratch resistance, while titanium models use a sapphire front crystal; these are Apple’s material and durability claims.
