The Aquastar Seatime Ref. 1007 is the family’s day-date model, distinguished by an internal rotating bezel operated through the crown. Reference-specific examples pair that display with an automatic A. Schild AS 2066 movement. The often-quoted 200 m water-resistance figure is historical, however—not proof that a surviving watch is safe to take underwater today.
What is the Aquastar Seatime Ref. 1007?
The Ref. 1007 belongs to Aquastar’s vintage Seatime line. In a reference-specific overview, Fratello identifies it as the day-date variant, in contrast with the date-only Ref. 1000; the family also included the smaller Ref. 1004. The Ref. 1007 therefore shows both the weekday and date, rather than the date alone. Fratello’s 2015 Seatime review is the source for that family distinction.
Useful visual clues described for the model include a cushion-shaped case, a crown and caseback marked with a starfish, and a dark-blue internal bezel. Fratello also describes dial variations. These are identification clues, not a definitive factory-originality checklist: a particular watch’s configuration and condition need to be assessed on their own. An NSA metal bracelet is mentioned as an option in the review, but the author says he had not encountered one; that does not establish whether a bracelet on a watch for sale is original.
How does the internal bezel work?
In Fratello’s account of the reviewed Ref. 1007, the crown controls both the bezel and the calendar and time settings. The crown is described as non-screw-down.

- Set the day and date: pull the crown to its first position.
- Set the time: pull it to its second position.
The review says the day disc can be selected in English or French. These operating details come from its reviewed example; if setting a particular watch feels stiff or unclear, do not force the crown—have a watchmaker check it.
Movement and reported specifications
Reference-specific material identifies the Ref. 1007 with the automatic A. Schild AS 2066 movement and 17 jewels. Fratello reports 46 hours of power reserve for the movement and gives its production period as 1969–1978. Antiquorum’s separate Ref. 1007 auction entry also identifies an AS 2066 with 17 jewels, supporting the caliber and jewel count for that lot. The reserve figure is a reported movement specification, not a measurement of any individual watch’s performance.

For the separate stainless-steel Ref. 1007 lot, Antiquorum’s November 2025 catalog records a 40 mm diameter and the AS 2066 with 17 jewels. Dimensions can vary by example or measurement, so use these figures as identification leads rather than guaranteed fit specifications.
What to check when identifying or buying one
Compare the watch as a whole rather than relying on a single dial or case detail. No definitive factory configuration checklist or production total is established by the cited material, so conclusions about originality should remain provisional.

- Reference and display: check that the day-date display and other details match the seller’s description of a Ref. 1007; distinguish it from the date-only Ref. 1000.
- Case and components: inspect metal and case condition, dial, internal bezel, crown, and caseback markings. Ask for clear photographs and an explanation of any replacement or restoration work.
- Movement and service: request movement photographs or an inspection confirming the caliber, along with dated service documentation if available. A running watch is not necessarily recently serviced.
- Fit and documentation: measure the actual lug opening before ordering a strap, and review the seller’s documentation and return terms.
One market record is a useful historical reference, not a valuation: Antiquorum records a sale result of CHF 1,125 for a stainless-steel, dark-blue-dial Ref. 1007 in Geneva on November 8, 2025. That is one auction transaction, not a current price range or appraisal for another example.
Is a vintage Seatime still safe to dive with?
Do not assume so based on the model’s historical rating. Fratello describes Seatime models as water resistant up to 200 m, but that is period product information; it does not establish the current water resistance of a watch that may be decades old. The condition of its seals, case, crown, and service history must be assessed individually. The cited reviewed and auctioned examples have no pressure-test result documented here.

Before exposing a Ref. 1007 to water, have a qualified watchmaker inspect it and perform an appropriate pressure test. Even a successful test applies to the watch’s condition at the time of testing, not indefinitely.

The importance of checking condition is illustrated by Antiquorum’s 2025 catalog entry: an overhaul was recommended at the buyer’s expense for that lot. This is evidence about that watch only, not a condition report for every Ref. 1007.
