The brand ties that story to Christiaan Huygens’s resonance experiments in 1665. This is the manufacturer’s historical framing, not a claim that the watch or its design existed in that period. How does its resonance mechanism work?
The manually wound ARF21_ZG movement contains two independent regulating systems—each with its own balance—connected by a resonance clutch. In Armin Strom’s account, the systems exchange vibrational energy through this link and can synchronize. The architecture is intended to bring the regulators into resonance; the manufacturer describes the result in terms of stable chronometry, but publishes no quantified accuracy guarantee for this watch.
The two seconds indications make the twin-regulator arrangement visible on the dial. A flyback function resets both seconds indications simultaneously without stopping the movement, according to the manufacturer. This describes the intended mechanism; it should not be mistaken for independent timing measurements or an observed test of this particular example.
