Its range includes several strap constructions and materials, but fit, hardware and return terms need to be checked on the exact product listing. The available independent review is a 2023 strap-focused article whose author disclosed brand support; it is not a substitute for current, independent hands-on testing.
What Atelier Romane sells
The brand’s current catalogue includes watch straps alongside pouches, cases, rolls and accessories. Strap designs listed include classic two-piece, racing and rally, one-piece, double-tour and curved-end styles, as well as options designed for selected folding clasps. The assortment can change, so treat these as catalogue categories rather than a guarantee that every style is currently in stock.
Materials shown across the catalogue include calf, goat, nubuck, shell cordovan, suede and FKM rubber. That menu does not mean every strap is offered in every material: check the specific listing for its construction and material.

- Measure the watch: check lug width and confirm the strap’s stated width. For a curved-end design or a strap intended for a particular watch reference, verify that exact case compatibility.
- Check length: compare the listed strap length with your wrist and the watch’s fit. Do not assume one length suits every wearer.
- Match the buckle or clasp: confirm whether a buckle is included, its width, and whether the strap works with your existing folding clasp. A clasp-compatible category does not establish compatibility with every clasp.
- Choose by the listing, not the category: verify the individual strap’s material and construction rather than inferring them from Atelier Romane’s broad catalogue.
- Read the current terms: check product-specific care guidance and the store’s return conditions before purchase. The catalogue notes that sale products cannot be returned; confirm the applicable terms on the listing.
French production and leather sourcing
In a December 16, 2021 interview, founder Mickael Lefeuvre described Atelier Romane’s workshop as being in Indre-et-Loire and said the brand’s products were made there. He also described using traditional leathers such as calf, goat, natural and vintage leather, nubuck and shell cordovan, with hides from French tanneries or, in some cases, Italian tanneries. These are the founder’s statements at that time, not a current independent audit of every product or production step. The founder interview provides that context.
What the independent review establishes
Fratello Watches published “Watch Strap Review 66 — Atelier Romane” on March 24, 2023. The article by Balazs Ferenczi focuses on the brand’s leather straps, and its author states that Atelier Romane supported the article. It is useful as a dated editorial reference, but that disclosure matters when weighing it; it does not establish current product quality across the full catalogue or provide independent hands-on evidence for this review.
