The Atelier Wen Perception Piāo is the ice-blue version of the current Perception V3, a 40 mm steel watch built around a hand-turned guilloché dial and a customized Pequignet automatic movement. Its appeal is clearest if you value distinctive dial work and the V3’s detailed specification; the maker’s performance claims have not been independently verified here, and price and delivery information can change. This review covers V3 specifically—not every earlier watch called Piāo.
Which Perception Piāo is this review about?
Piāo (缥) is the ice-blue dial variant in Atelier Wen’s current Perception V3 line. The brand’s older material and the GPHG reference page also use Piāo for earlier Perception-era watches, so the name alone does not identify one fixed specification. Dimensions, movement, finishing and delivery details below refer to V3 unless stated otherwise. Check the reference and generation when considering a pre-owned or older listing. Atelier Wen’s current Perception V3 collection and its V3 announcement describe the current model.

What are the V3 specifications?
Atelier Wen specifies a 40 mm diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug length and 10.4 mm thickness, including the crystal. The case is 904L stainless steel, and stated water resistance is 100 m/10 ATM. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. The Piāo has brushed and mirror-polished case and bracelet surfaces; the green Yún variant instead has a micro-frosted finish. The V3 product listing and brand announcement provide the figures.
What makes the Piāo dial distinctive?
Atelier Wen describes the ice-blue dial as hand-turned guilloché made by Cheng Yucai. The GPHG reference page likewise calls it hand-made guilloché and says Master Cheng takes eight hours to make one dial; that production-time figure is the GPHG page’s claim, not an independently verified measurement. GPHG’s Perception reference page gives its description of the craft.

The dial’s pattern and color are the principal visual differentiators among current V3 variants: Piāo is ice blue, Yún is green, and Xiá is salmon. That provides a straightforward choice if you are comparing V3 versions; the available information does not establish a broader ranking against competing watches.
What movement does the Perception Piāo V3 use?
V3 uses a customized Pequignet EPM03 automatic calibre. Atelier Wen lists bidirectional winding, 21 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, hacking seconds, adjustment in six positions and three temperatures, and a 65-hour power reserve. The brand states chronometer-grade accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day, with an average of ±2 seconds per day. These are maker-provided specifications and accuracy claims; no independent validation or separate certification record is established here. See the official V3 listing.
A sapphire crystal sits above the dial, and an exhibition caseback with a sapphire window exposes the movement. Atelier Wen specifies 10 layers of internal anti-reflective coating for the caseback window; its announcement also lists 10 layers on the box crystal. The brand describes the bridges as shaped in a traditional Chinese representation of wind and filled with blue aventurine lacquer. It frames the watch as a Sino-French collaboration: a Chinese-made artisanal dial paired with a customized French movement. The brand’s announcement sets out that description.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How does the bracelet and clasp work?
The V3 bracelet is 904L steel with quick-release spring bars. Atelier Wen says it is interchangeable with the brand’s FKM rubber strap, but confirm generation compatibility before buying a strap for an older Piāo. The V3 product page also lists a patent-pending on-the-fly micro-adjustment system and a telescopic deployant blade. Those are manufacturer-described features; specifications alone cannot establish how the bracelet will fit or feel on a particular wrist. Check the V3 listing for the current bracelet details.
What does the Perception Piāo V3 cost, and is it available?
Atelier Wen’s V3 product page displays HK$37,750. The same page says the first 300 pieces were allocated, with delivery beginning in September 2026, and shows a December 2026 delivery notice for the displayed variant. The brand’s announcement describes batch-one delivery in September 2026 and later batches as production progresses. These are time-sensitive V3 listing and delivery statements, not confirmation of current inventory or pricing for an older Piāo generation. Check the live listing and applicable region before ordering. Official product page; V3 announcement.
Is the Atelier Wen Perception Piāo worth buying?
The V3 Piāo is worth considering if its ice-blue guilloché dial is the feature you most want and the 40 mm case, 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and steel bracelet suit your preferences. Its listed movement, finishing and water-resistance specifications make the proposition concrete, but they do not establish real-world accuracy, comfort, durability or service experience. No independent hands-on performance or long-term reliability evidence is established here.
Before committing, compare the exact generation and reference—not just the Piāo name—and check these purchase details:
Quick Recap
- Movement and support: Identify the calibre in the exact watch and confirm service arrangements for your location.
- Fit: Compare the case dimensions with a watch you already wear; try the bracelet if possible rather than inferring comfort from measurements.
- Condition and price: For an older or pre-owned Piāo, verify its reference, condition, included bracelet or strap, warranty and asking price independently.
- Availability: Confirm current stock and delivery timing with the seller; the V3 listing does not establish availability of an earlier generation.
