What is the Royal Oak 15400SR?
The full reference is 15400SR.OO.1220SR.01, often shortened to 15400SR. Monochrome Watches described it as a two-tone return for the Royal Oak at SIHH 2015. The reference combines the familiar steel case and bracelet with pink-gold details rather than using one metal throughout.
Case and bracelet: where the two metals appear
According to Monochrome Watches’ 23 January 2015 hands-on article, the case measures 41 mm and is made from stainless steel. The bezel and screw-locked crown are 18-carat pink gold. The bracelet mixes steel links with pink-gold connecting links; its folding clasp is steel. The listed water resistance is 50 m.
Dial and appearance
The dial is silver-toned with Audemars Piguet’s Grande Tapisserie pattern. Applied pink-gold hour markers continue the case’s warm-metal accents, while the Royal Oak hands have luminescent coating.

The Monochrome reviewer wrote that “this watch looks better in the flesh than in press pictures.” That is the reviewer’s visual impression, not a physical assessment by WatchRanker. The same review noted that the brushed finish made the watch appear less shiny than expected.
Movement and functions
The 2015 article identifies self-winding manufacture calibre 3120, with hours, minutes, central seconds and date. It lists a 60-hour power reserve. These specifications are reported by Monochrome Watches in its coverage of the 15400SR.OO.1220SR.01.

Audemars Piguet’s official collection page for reference 15450SR.OO.1256SR.01 describes a separate 37 mm steel-and-18-carat-pink-gold Royal Oak. It should not be mistaken for the 41 mm 15400SR or treated as evidence that the older reference is currently sold.
