What is the Royal Oak Offshore The Legacy?
The Legacy is a Schwarzenegger-associated Royal Oak Offshore chronograph, reference 26378IO.OO.A001KE.01. A Phillips auction catalog identifies the reference and dates an example to circa 2011; it does not establish current availability or value. The watch is distinct from the 1999 End of Days collaboration, an earlier Offshore with its own reference and charitable history.
Audemars Piguet’s official AP Chronicles history, “Birth of the Offshore”, traces Schwarzenegger’s connection with the manufacture to a 1997 visit to Le Brassus and describes later limited editions—T3, All-Star and Legacy (26378)—as supporting his charitable work. AP’s exact wording is that the proceeds from these later editions “all of which were destined to support the actor and politician’s charitable work.” That statement does not specify a Legacy beneficiary or donation amount.
Case, materials and dial
A contemporaneous 2011 report reproducing product specifications gives the case diameter as 48 mm and thickness as 14.1 mm. The case and bezel are black ceramic; the caseback and other components are titanium, with a bead-blasted finish reported for the caseback. Rubber and titanium guards protect the pushpieces. The pushpieces are 18-carat pink gold, as is a disc on the ceramic crown. The reported water resistance is 100 m. These technical details come from a secondary report, not a current AP product page.

The black dial has an exclusive “Méga Tapisserie” pattern, diamond-polished pink-gold numerals and hour markers, and faceted luminous hour and minute hands. A tachymeter scale and date display add practical readouts, while the chronograph counters and small seconds make the dial deliberately busy. The combination of a large case, dark ceramic and warm-toned gold accents defines the watch’s visual character; how clearly the displays read at a glance has not been independently assessed here.
Movement and functions
The 2011 specifications identify a self-winding Calibre 2326/2840. The report lists a 38-hour power reserve, 50 jewels, 370 parts, a 6.2 mm movement thickness and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). It gives the functions as hours, minutes, small seconds, central chronograph seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, tachymeter and date.

Strap configuration and what a listing should show
The reported original configuration included an anthracite aramid-fiber strap with a bead-blasted titanium pin buckle and an additional hand-sewn black crocodile-leather strap with large square scales. The sources do not establish whether replacement straps are currently available. For an individual listing, verify which straps are actually included and assess the watch’s condition, documentation and seller provenance; the historical specification does not prove that a particular example retains its original accessories.

How The Legacy fits the Schwarzenegger Offshore story
AP’s heritage account places the Legacy among later limited editions connected with Schwarzenegger’s charitable work. The earlier End of Days collaboration was a separate 1999 watch. AP’s account of that edition says its sales proceeds were intended to support the Inner City Games Foundation, which offered sports and educational programs to underprivileged youth. That specific beneficiary and proceeds arrangement should not be attributed to The Legacy without edition-specific documentation.
AP’s history also gives broader collection figures: Royal Oak Offshore sales excluding ladies’ models rose from 1,339 units in 2000 to 14,011 in 2010, while 8,081 Royal Oak watches were sold in 2010. These are collection-level historical figures, not sales or production data for reference 26378.
