Which watch has the better movement and power reserve?
Citizen: longer listed reserve
Citizen lists 60 hours for its automatic 8322 caliber, 22 hours more than BA111OD’s stated 38-hour reserve for the automatic Soprod P024. If both watches are fully wound and then left unworn, the Citizen’s published figure gives it more time before it is expected to stop. These are manufacturer figures, not a head-to-head reserve test. Citizen’s US product page and European collection information give the 8322 and 60-hour figure; BA111OD lists the P024 and 38 hours on its Jet Black page.

BA111OD: a stated chronometer certification
BA111OD says the Chapter 7 Chronometer is certified by the Observatoire de Chronométrie de Genève (TIMELAB) and publishes a -4/+6 seconds-per-day performance figure. Citizen’s cited product and collection pages identify the 8322 caliber and reserve but do not publish a comparable certification or accuracy range. That is a difference in disclosed manufacturer claims; it does not prove how either individual watch will perform on the wrist or establish a measured accuracy advantage in direct comparison.
How do the cases compare for fit?
The BA111OD is 40 mm across, 10.50 mm thick and 47 mm from lug to lug, according to its current product page. Citizen lists a 40.5 mm diameter for the Zenshin 60. The half-millimeter diameter difference is small on paper, but diameter alone cannot predict fit: the cited Citizen pages do not provide directly comparable thickness or lug-to-lug measurements for NK5020-58P. If wrist fit is decisive, try both on rather than inferring comfort from diameter.

The material choice is clearer. BA111OD specifies stainless steel; Citizen specifies Super Titanium. The material and size specifications are listed by BA111OD and Citizen US, with Citizen’s European overview also listing the 40.5 mm diameter (Citizen Europe).
Are both watches suitable for swimming?
Both manufacturers rate their watch at 100 m: BA111OD states 10 ATM and Citizen states 100 m / 10 bar. Those ratings do not by themselves establish that either watch is certified to a dive-watch standard. What bracelet and dial options should you check?
BA111OD’s Chapter 7 Chronometer is offered with a steel bracelet or rubber strap. For the steel-bracelet version, the company describes an integrated micro-adjustment system that requires no tools: “The new Chapter 7 Chronometer features a stainless steel bracelet with a micro-metric adjustment system, allowing you to fine-tune the fit in seconds – no tools needed.” This is the manufacturer’s description of that bracelet feature, not a claim that every bracelet adjustment is tool-free. The cited Citizen NK5020-58P listing shows a Super Titanium bracelet. Because dial suffixes and local listings differ, verify that the model code, dial color and bracelet configuration match what you intend to buy. The 58P US listing should not be treated as interchangeable with Italy’s 58M listing.

How much do the BA111OD and Citizen cost?
Prices depend on market, variant and timing, so these snapshots should not be read as a global price ranking. At retrieval in 2026, BA111OD’s official Jet Black page displayed CHF 780 and availability of 10 working days (BA111OD). Its February 2025 press material announced launch prices of CHF 760 with rubber and CHF 820 with a steel bracelet; those historical launch prices refer to different configurations and date context (BA111OD press material).
At retrieval in 2026, Citizen US displayed $620 for NK5020-58P, reduced from $775; that is a US promotional price display and may change (Citizen US). Citizen Italy listed €499 for NK5020-58M, a different regional reference and dial variant (Citizen Italy). Compare the exact local model, taxes, availability and warranty terms rather than converting these figures into a single worldwide winner.

- Pick the BA111OD Chapter 7 Chronometer Jet Black if you specifically value its stated TIMELAB chronometer certification, the published -4/+6 seconds-per-day figure, its 40 mm steel case dimensions, or the choice of rubber strap and tool-free micro-adjustable steel bracelet.
- Pick the Citizen Zenshin 60 Mechanical NK5020-58P if Super Titanium and the longer published 60-hour power reserve are the priorities, and the 40.5 mm case and locally available dial variant suit you.
Neither specification sheet establishes comparative comfort, real-world accuracy, long-term reliability, service costs or resale value. Those points require evidence beyond the manufacturers’ listed specifications.
