The Baltic Aquascaphe Bronze Brown is a 39 mm automatic dive watch with a gradient brown dial, a CuAl8 bronze case and bezel, and a 200 m water-resistance rating. Its 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and evolving bronze finish are as important to consider as the headline diameter: they shape how it wears and how it looks over time.
What the Aquascaphe Bronze Brown offers
Baltic’s specification sheet describes a bronze-cased diver with a sapphire crystal and bezel insert, a Miyota automatic movement, and a supplied FKM rubber strap. These are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent test results. Baltic’s official product page is the reference for the watch’s listed details.

How the 39 mm case may wear
Diameter alone does not determine fit. The 47 mm lug-to-lug gives a more useful sense of the watch’s footprint across the wrist, while the listed thickness is 13 mm including the crystal (11 mm without it). Compare those dimensions with a watch you already find comfortable, and consider whether the lugs sit within the edges of your wrist.
Bronze also has a different feel and visual presence from a lighter-looking steel case. Baltic customer excerpts include positive comments about perceived weight, alongside a complaint that the supplied strap felt too short. Those are individual impressions, not a representative survey. If you are near the end of a strap’s adjustment range, check the available strap sizing and return terms before ordering.

What to expect from the bronze
The case and bezel are CuAl8, a copper-aluminum alloy. Baltic says the bronze develops patina over time through contact and handling, and describes that change as making each watch unique. The appearance will evolve; the product information does not establish a fixed schedule or a uniform result. If you prefer a finish that stays visually consistent, that ongoing change is a key ownership consideration.
Dial, bezel and movement details
Brown gradient dial and sapphire
The dial has a gradient brown finish, paired with Super-LumiNova C1. Baltic lists a double-domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire bezel insert, so sapphire is used for both the cover over the dial and the insert on the bezel.
Miyota 9039 automatic movement
Baltic specifies the Miyota 9039 with a 42-hour power reserve and stop seconds. Stop seconds lets the seconds hand halt when setting the time, which can make precise synchronization easier. The listed reserve is the maker’s specification, not a measurement from an independent test.
Dive-watch controls and water resistance
The watch has a screw-down crown and a unidirectional bezel with 120 clicks; Baltic lists water resistance at 200 m (20 ATM). These are the manufacturer’s stated ratings and features. Follow the maker’s guidance for crown operation, maintenance and water exposure rather than treating a rating as a substitute for checking the watch’s condition.

Strap sizing and replacement options
The lugs are 20 mm wide, and Baltic describes the supplied strap as vulcanized FKM rubber with a bronze buckle. The brand says its own straps are compatible with the watch. A 20 mm width is a useful starting point for looking at other straps, but width alone does not guarantee fit: check the strap’s construction and end shape against the watch before buying. The selected customer complaint about strap length is a reason to verify sizing for your wrist, not proof that the strap is too short for most owners.
Price and availability
The price and delivery details are not established here. Check the official product page for your region and selected strap for current price, stock, shipping, taxes and return terms before placing an order; these details can change.
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a compact-diameter bronze diver, a brown gradient dial, and a finish that is expected to change with handling.
- Check the 47 mm lug-to-lug and 13 mm stated thickness against watches that fit you well, rather than judging by 39 mm diameter alone.
- Confirm strap length and available exchange or return terms if you have a larger wrist or are close to the end of your usual strap’s adjustment.
- Look elsewhere if you want a case finish that remains consistent or prefer to avoid the added visual character of bronze patina.
