Baltic Tricompax Panda & Reverse Panda: What to Know About the Scalegraph Classic

Baltic’s Tricompax Panda and Reverse Panda share a contrasting chronograph look. Here’s how the current Scalegraph Classic Reverse Panda is named, specified, and sized.

The Baltic Tricompax Panda and Reverse Panda are two dial colorways of the same chronograph design; Baltic’s current official product page calls the reverse-panda version the Scalegraph Classic Reverse Panda. Its published specifications list a 39.5 mm case, hand-wound Sellita chronograph movement, and 50 m water resistance. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements or test results.

Which Baltic watch does “Tricompax” refer to?

“Tricompax” is the name used in launch-era coverage of Baltic’s Panda and Reverse Panda chronographs. The current official product page uses a different name for the reverse-panda model: Scalegraph Classic Reverse Panda. That naming distinction matters because Baltic also has an older, separate Bicompax 001 Panda & Reverse Panda in its archive.

The archived Bicompax edition was a limited release sold in June 2018. Baltic says it retained the Bicompax 001’s 38 mm step-case, dial layout, and leaf hands, with differences in the dials, caseback, and straps. Those details describe the 2018 Bicompax, not the later Tricompax/Scalegraph generation.

For context on the later chronograph’s launch, see Fratello’s launch coverage and Monochrome’s hands-on article.

What distinguishes Panda from Reverse Panda?

The distinction is the direction of the dial contrast. The Reverse Panda has a semi-gloss black dial with three light beige guilloché subdials. A Panda colorway reverses that broad relationship, using a light dial ground with dark counters. Both names describe the visual contrast, not different movement specifications established by the current Reverse Panda product page.

The contrasting counters are the design’s clearest point of difference from a uniform dial. Whether one version is easier to read depends on the individual watch, lighting, and wearer; the published specifications do not establish a comparative legibility result. Choose based on the dial ground and counter contrast you prefer rather than treating either colorway as objectively more legible.

What are the Scalegraph Classic Reverse Panda specifications?

The following figures are Baltic Watches’ current product-page specifications, accessed in 2026; they have not been independently measured for this article.

Specification Baltic’s listed detail
Case 316L stainless steel
Diameter 39.5 mm
Lug-to-lug 47 mm
Thickness 13.5 mm; 11 mm without the crystal
Lug width 20 mm
Bezel Aluminium tachymeter bezel
Crystal Double-domed sapphire with internal anti-reflective coating
Dial and hands Semi-gloss black dial, light beige guilloché subdials, applied indexes, and dauphine hands with Super-LumiNova BGW9
Movement Hand-wound Sellita SW510-M chronograph; stop seconds
Power reserve 63 hours
Water resistance 50 m (5 ATM)

What does the movement and water rating mean for ownership?

This is a hand-wound chronograph, so it requires the owner to wind it rather than relying on an automatic rotor. Baltic describes the movement as follows: “The Scalegraph Classic is equipped with the SW510-M caliber, a mechanical hand-wound chronograph movement developed by the Swiss manufacturer Sellita.” The brand lists a 63-hour power reserve and stop seconds. The reserve is a specification, not a promise of observed running time under a particular use pattern.

Baltic lists water resistance at 50 m (5 ATM). That is the manufacturer’s rating; it should not be read as a dive rating or as a specific recommendation for swimming, showering, or other water activity without guidance applicable to the watch and its condition.

How should you think about fit and straps?

The most useful fit references are the 39.5 mm diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug length, and 13.5 mm overall thickness (11 mm without the crystal). Compare those dimensions with a watch you already wear and consider how the lug-to-lug span and crystal height sit on your wrist. The dimensions alone do not establish an on-wrist fit for every wearer.

20mm Blue Leather Watchband for Baltic Scalegraph/Tricompax
  • 【Vintage Style】This 20mm blue leather watch band combines a rich sapphire-blue tone, contrasting white stitching and a polished silver buckle for an artistic vintage look.
  • 【Full Grain Leather】Crafted with an oil-wax full grain cowhide upper and an eco-friendly, wear-resistant calfskin lining for a soft feel, natural texture and dependable everyday durability.
  • 【Aging Character】The color-changing oil-wax finish develops subtle marks, tonal variations and a richer patina through regular wear, giving each genuine leather watch strap its own character.
  • 【Quick Release】Integrated quick-release spring bars allow fast, tool-free installation, while the 20mm lug end tapers to 18mm at the buckle for a balanced and comfortable profile.
  • 【Customer Support】Please measure the inner distance between your watch lugs before ordering; if you have questions about sizing, installation or the product, contact us for assistance.

The listed lug width is 20 mm. Baltic offers Italian calf leather, steel flat-link, and steel beads-of-rice options on the product page and says its straps fit this watch. That compatibility statement applies to Baltic’s own offerings; it does not guarantee that every third-party 20 mm strap will fit correctly. Check the strap’s lug-end shape and hardware as well as its stated width.

What is not established by the published specifications?

The manufacturer’s specification page does not provide an independent timing test, a measured assessment of the chronograph pushers, or a water-resistance test result. The figures above should therefore be read as listed product specifications, not hands-on performance findings. Monochrome’s linked article is explicitly a hands-on review, but any subjective impressions belong to that publication and should not be mistaken for measurements performed here.
