Baltic’s November 2023 Gold PVD capsule put a black-and-gold treatment on three existing designs: the MR01, HMS 002 and Bicompax 002. The range spans a micro-rotor automatic dress watch, a three-hand automatic and a hand-wound chronograph. Each pairs a gold PVD-coated steel case with a black dial and gold-coloured details; the case sizes, movements and dial layouts vary by model.
What was Baltic’s Gold PVD collection?
Announced on 29 November 2023, the capsule refreshed established Baltic models rather than introducing a new watch family. The launch coverage described the black-and-gold palette as reminiscent of the JPS racing livery; that is a stylistic comparison, not Baltic’s formal collection name. “Gold PVD” refers here to a gold-coloured coating on steel, not a solid-gold case. The three watches share that surface treatment and a black-and-gold look, but serve different purposes.

Baltic’s HMS 002 product page confirms the 316L steel case with gold PVD coating, 38 mm diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug, 13 mm thickness, hesalite crystal, Miyota 8315, 60-hour reserve and 50 m (5 ATM) water resistance.

Which model suits which wearer?
MR01: the compact dress-watch choice
The MR01 is the smallest and thinnest of the three in the launch specifications. Its 36 mm case and micro-rotor automatic movement give it a dress-watch profile, while the current Baltic name for the black-dial gold-coated version is MR Classic Gold PVD Black. Baltic’s product page identifies the 36 mm gold PVD-coated steel case and micro-rotor movement.
HMS 002: a straightforward three-hand automatic
The HMS 002 is the capsule’s conventional time-only automatic. Its Miyota 8315 supplies a stated 60-hour reserve, and Baltic specifies 50 m water resistance. At 38 mm across and 47 mm lug-to-lug, it has a larger case footprint than the MR01; its listed thickness is 13 mm.

Bicompax 002: the hand-wound chronograph
The Bicompax 002 is the choice for a chronograph rather than a simple time display. The launch article identifies its hand-wound Seagull ST1901 as a column-wheel chronograph movement and gives a 42-hour reserve. Baltic’s current stock for this exact Gold PVD version was not established, so its presence in the 2023 launch should not be taken as evidence that it is currently for sale.

Availability is model- and locale-dependent, and official listings can change. Baltic’s MR collection page showed the Gold PVD black MR model out of stock when accessed, while its product page identifies it as MR Classic Gold PVD Black. The official HMS product page and a regional HMS collection listing showed a product listing; the collection listing displayed €385 in its accessed regional context. Check Baltic’s MR collection, regional HMS collection and classic-watch collection for current stock and local pricing. No current official availability was verified for the Bicompax 002 Gold PVD.
