Beats Studio Buds+ have been reported at $99 on Amazon, about 41% below their $169.99 list price. At that price, they are an appealing choice for buyers who want active noise cancellation (ANC), a sealed in-ear fit and support for both iPhone and Android. They do not replace every AirPods convenience, and the reported price may vary by color, seller and stock. Verify the listing before buying; the available deal reports do not establish that every color or seller qualifies.
Is the $99 Beats Studio Buds+ deal real?
NextPit reported a $99 Amazon price, roughly 41% below Beats’ $169.99 list price, and Tom’s Guide separately reported the same Amazon price in May 2026. Those reports support the deal claim, but they do not confirm that it is still active today or applies to every color. Check the live listing for the exact price, color, seller and condition. The reports do not establish shipping costs, return terms, or whether the listing is new rather than refurbished, so confirm those details at checkout.
NextPit’s deal coverage and Tom’s Guide’s report provide the $99 price context. Beats lists the product at $169.99 on its official product page. Treat $99 as a reported sale price, not a guaranteed or permanent price.
What you get for the money
Studio Buds+ are sealed true-wireless earbuds with ANC, Transparency mode, Dolby Atmos spatial-audio support and USB-C charging. They include four silicone ear-tip sizes—XS, S, M and L—so fit can be adjusted. Each earbud has a physical multifunction button. The earbuds are IPX4-rated for sweat and water resistance; the charging case is not water resistant.
#1 Best Overall
- BEATS’ CUSTOM ACOUSTIC PLATFORM delivers rich, immersive sound whether you’re listening to music or taking calls.
- HEAR WHAT YOU WANT with two distinct listening modes: personalized Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and Transparency mode.
- MORE MUSIC, LESS CHARGING with up to 36 hours of listening time.
- ENHANCED COMPATIBILITY with one-touch pairing and a robust set of native Apple and Android features.
- FIND YOUR FIT with four pairs of silicone tip sizes to fit a wider range of ears. The tips create a comfortable seal for the best acoustic performance while keeping noise out.
Beats documents compatibility with iPhone and Android, including Apple Find My and Google Find My Device support. The product page also lists one-touch Apple pairing, “Hey Siri,” Google Fast Pair and Android Audio Switch. Feature behavior depends on compatible devices, software and accounts; Android customization, updates and some controls require the Beats app. Find My support is useful, but it does not make the Beats’ ecosystem behavior identical to AirPods.
Battery ratings, and what they mean
| Listening mode | Earbuds | Total with case |
|---|---|---|
| ANC and Transparency off | Up to 9 hours | Up to 36 hours |
| ANC or Transparency on | Up to 6 hours | Up to 24 hours |
| Fast Fuel | Up to 1 hour of playback after 5 minutes of charging | Not stated |
These are Beats’ maximum ratings under controlled test conditions, not guaranteed everyday runtimes. Volume, calls, temperature, fit, battery age and other use conditions can change actual results. The 36-hour total assumes ANC and Transparency are off; it is not 36 hours of continuous use between charges. See the Beats support page for battery details.

How good are the ANC, fit and sound?
ANC can reduce steady low-frequency noise such as an engine or HVAC hum. A good ear-tip seal matters: it affects passive isolation, bass and how well ANC works. Transparency mode lets outside sound in for conversation or awareness, but it is not the same as removing an earbud.
Beats says the Studio Buds+ deliver up to 1.6 times more ANC power and up to 2 times improved Transparency compared with the previous Studio Buds. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements; they do not establish performance relative to AirPods Pro, Sony or Bose premium models. Beats also describes a custom two-layer transducer, larger microphones and a voice-targeting algorithm. Without independent testing, those design descriptions are not proof of a particular sound or call result.

The sealed fit may suit listeners who want isolation and a secure-feeling in-ear design, but silicone tips are not comfortable for everyone. Beats describes the sound as balanced; listeners who prefer a more energetic, bass-forward presentation may find the tuning appealing, but sound preference is subjective. Spatial-audio support does not mean every track or app provides spatial audio, or that head tracking is available in every setup.
Beats Studio Buds+ vs. AirPods: choose the model, not the name
“AirPods” covers several designs and feature sets. Standard AirPods have an open-style fit, while AirPods Pro use ear tips and include ANC. Charging options and features also vary by exact model and case. Compare the specific AirPods you are considering rather than assuming every model has ANC, wireless charging or the same battery life.

iPhone users
Buy at or below $99 if you want ANC and an in-ear seal for less than the price of premium earbuds, and can live without wireless charging and some AirPods-specific conveniences. If you prioritize Apple’s deeper device integration, a wireless-charging case or the standard AirPods fit, compare the exact AirPods model and sale price first.
Best Value
- BEATS’ CUSTOM ACOUSTIC PLATFORM delivers rich, immersive sound whether you’re listening to music or taking calls.
Android users
The Studio Buds+ are a particularly practical option if you want a recognizable cross-platform feature set: Beats lists Google Fast Pair, Android Audio Switch and Google Find My Device support. Use the Beats app for customization, updates and some controls. Check compatibility for the specific Android phone and software version you use.
People who switch between iPhone and Android
The platform support makes them easier to consider for mixed-device households than earbuds tied closely to one phone ecosystem. Still, do not assume automatic switching works exactly like AirPods across every device; confirm the feature requirements for your phones before treating it as a deciding advantage.
When to skip them
- You want wireless charging: the case charges by USB-C only.
- You dislike silicone tips: their sealed fit is fundamental to the design; standard AirPods may suit you better if you prefer an open fit.
- You need a water-resistant case: IPX4 applies to the earbuds, not the case. Protect the case from water, and do not use the earbuds for swimming.
- You need sports-specific stabilizers: the product specifications do not describe wings or hooks, so buyers who need that hardware should look for a model designed with it.
- You want the strongest ANC or call performance: the available manufacturer claims do not establish that these match premium AirPods Pro, Sony or Bose models. Seek independent comparisons for the exact models you are considering.
- You want advanced codecs or extensive EQ: the product information cited here does not establish those capabilities.
- You find AirPods close to $99: a small price gap can make Apple’s ecosystem features or preferred fit more valuable than the Beats discount.
Verdict: buy at $99 if the trade-offs fit
At a verified $99, Studio Buds+ are a strong value for listeners who want ANC, long rated battery life and iPhone-and-Android compatibility in sealed earbuds. They make basic AirPods harder to justify for some buyers, but they do not erase the case for AirPods when Apple integration, a preferred fit or wireless charging matters more. If the price rises substantially above $99, reconsider the value against the exact AirPods or other earbuds on sale rather than relying on the reported discount.
