Yes—Mobvoi still lists its Mobvoi watchfaces app on Google Play as an installable collection of TicWatch faces. The important catch is that the current listing specifies Wear OS 3 and above, so the 2019 promise of TicWatch faces for non-Mobvoi watches should not be read as a guarantee for every Wear OS watch today.
What became available in 2019?
On March 14, 2019, Droid Life reported that a number of TicWatch faces had become available through Google Play for use on non-Mobvoi Wear OS watches. The article described those faces as free. That is a historical report, not confirmation that every TicWatch face is still listed, free, or compatible with every watch. Read the original 2019 announcement.
There are three different things to distinguish: the current Mobvoi watchfaces app, individual older face listings such as TicWatch Equation, and TimeShow Watch Faces, a separate Mobvoi marketplace. Their availability and compatibility are not interchangeable.
What can you install now?
Mobvoi watchfaces
The current Google Play listing is called Mobvoi watchfaces, published by Mobvoi Information Technology Company Limited. It describes the app as a collection of “TicWatch preloaded watch faces” for Wear OS 3 and above. The listing showed no upfront purchase price, more than 1 million downloads, and an update date of April 17, 2024 when checked for this article. These are listing details, not a promise that the app will remain unchanged or compatible with a particular watch.

Individual legacy faces
Google Play has also had separate listings for faces including TicWatch Equation, TicWatch Business Time, and TicWatch Magicshadow. These are older listings; Equation, for example, was updated November 25, 2020. Their historic compatibility descriptions do not establish that they work with current watches or are still available in every region.
TimeShow Watch Faces
TimeShow Watch Faces is a separate, broader catalog and platform. Its listing names support for multiple Wear OS brands, including TicWatch, Fossil Gen 6, Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4/5/6/7/Ultra, Xiaomi Watch 2/Watch 2 Pro, and Suunto 7, and mentions Wear OS 5. Those are TimeShow compatibility claims; they do not prove that the separate Mobvoi watchfaces app supports all those models. Google Play marks TimeShow as containing in-app purchases, and its catalog includes paid content.

How to install the current Mobvoi collection
- On the Android phone paired with your watch, open Google Play and search for Mobvoi watchfaces.
- Check that the developer is Mobvoi Information Technology Company Limited, then open the listing at Google Play.
- Check Google Play’s compatibility indication for the paired watch. The listing specifies Wear OS 3 and above; the phone’s ability to display an app does not by itself mean the watch can install it.
- Install the app. If the phone does not offer installation to your watch or the face does not arrive, check the Play Store on the watch itself.
- On the watch, open the watch-face picker and select the installed face. Installation does not necessarily switch the active face automatically.
Older Mobvoi face instructions described waiting for a transfer, then long-pressing the current face to choose the new one. They also referenced the old Android Wear app, so treat those instructions as legacy rather than a universal current procedure. TicWatch Equation’s listing is an example.
What compatibility actually means
Wear OS 3 or later is the clearest current compatibility signal for Mobvoi watchfaces, but it does not guarantee that every watch on that OS version is eligible. Google Play may exclude a device because of package requirements or other compatibility rules. Samsung, Pixel, Fossil, and other Wear OS owners should treat the app as potentially compatible until Play shows it for their specific watch; check both the paired-phone listing and the watch’s own Play Store.

Even a successful installation may provide only the visual face, not every data field. The Equation listing describes round and square display support, ambient mode, and fields such as steps, weather, and calendar, but warns that some functions may not work normally on non-TicWatch watches. Mobvoi-specific services or permissions may be required for complications, including health or activity data. Check requested permissions, and for weather confirm location permission and connectivity.
If the face does not appear or its data is blank
- No Install button or watch target: Check the watch’s on-device Play Store and confirm the watch runs Wear OS. A phone listing alone does not establish watch compatibility.
- Installation completes but the face is missing: Open the watch-face picker manually, allow synchronization time, then restart the watch and phone.
- Face appears but complications are blank: Review the face’s permissions and whether the data depends on Mobvoi services. Visual compatibility does not ensure access to steps, heart rate, weather, or calendar data.
- Weather does not update: Check location permission and the watch’s connectivity.
- Transfer seems stalled: Remove and reinstall the face, then check the watch-side Play Store again.
- An older face no longer works: Prefer the current Mobvoi watchfaces listing if your watch meets its compatibility requirements rather than relying on an APK from an unverified source. Sideloading can bypass Play compatibility checks, and watch-face packages may be version-specific.
- You are asked to pay: Verify that you opened Mobvoi watchfaces rather than TimeShow or another catalog. TimeShow is separate and includes in-app purchases.
Which option makes sense?
- Choose Mobvoi watchfaces if you have a Wear OS 3-or-newer watch that Google Play marks compatible and want TicWatch-style faces without an upfront app price shown in the listing.
- Look for a specific legacy face by name only if its listing is available for your watch and you accept uncertainty about maintenance and non-TicWatch features.
- Consider TimeShow if broader brand coverage and more choice matter more than avoiding in-app purchases.
- If dependable complications are essential, prioritize a face explicitly designed for your exact watch and Wear OS version, and review its permissions before installing.
For Mobvoi TicWatch owners, Mobvoi’s companion app also includes watch-face management. Its presence does not change the separate Mobvoi watchfaces app’s stated Wear OS 3-and-above compatibility.
