The Bell & Ross BR-X1 Hyperstellar, reference BRX1-AL-TI-BLU, pairs a 45 mm square titanium-and-blue-anodized-aluminum case with a skeletonized automatic chronograph. In Felix Scholz’s 2016 hands-on review, the square shape made it wear larger than its width suggests, but short lugs and a comfortable strap helped it sit well on his wrist. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a fit guarantee.
How the BR-X1 Hyperstellar wears
Scholz described the square case as wearing larger than its 45 mm width might suggest. He found the short lugs helped keep it comfortable on his wrist, and singled out the strap as especially comfortable. His assessment is specific to his 2016 experience; the available specifications do not establish a lug-to-lug measurement or wrist-size range.
He also liked the blue-and-gray palette. The watch’s visual presence comes from the contrast between the blue-anodized case elements, gray-tinted sapphire dial, and exposed movement architecture. Whether that combination feels balanced or busy is a matter of taste.
Case, dial and chronograph layout
Bell & Ross specifies a 45 mm case made from titanium and blue-anodized aluminum, with rubber inserts and rocker-style chronograph pushers. The case back has a tinted sapphire opening centered on the balance wheel. An anti-reflective-coated sapphire crystal covers the gray-tinted sapphire dial.

The display keeps the chronograph information distinct from the time display:
- Hours and minutes are shown by skeletonized metal hands filled with Super-LumiNova.
- Applied metal hour indexes have Super-LumiNova inserts.
- A small-seconds display sits at 3 o’clock.
- The chronograph’s 30-minute counter is at 9 o’clock, with chronograph seconds indicated centrally.
- The date appears at 6 o’clock on a skeletonized display.
The X-shaped upper bridge is a defining element of the movement’s visible architecture, rather than merely a dial decoration.

Movement and official specifications
Bell & Ross identifies the automatic mechanical movement as BR-CAL.313. The manufacturer lists 56 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (vph), along with the X-shaped upper bridge and skeleton chronograph construction. The cited specifications do not state power reserve, accuracy, certification, or service interval.

Strap and water resistance
The specified strap combines gray rubber with gray alligator leather, and the steel pin buckle has a gray rubber insert. Scholz’s favorable comfort comment concerns his own wear experience; it does not confirm how the strap will feel on another wrist.
Bell & Ross lists water resistance at 100 meters. That is the manufacturer’s rating; it does not by itself establish suitability for a particular activity or substitute for checking the watch’s condition and care guidance.

Edition and price: dated context, not current value
Time+Tide’s 19 March 2016 review reported a limited run of 250 pieces and a retail price of €17,900 at the time. Those figures describe the review’s launch-era context, not current retail availability or resale value.

What the hands-on review can—and cannot—tell you
Felix Scholz’s model-specific review was published by Time+Tide on 19 March 2016. It frames the BR-X1 line as aviation-inspired and the Hyperstellar as pushing that design toward a space theme. His comments on wearability, color, and strap comfort are subjective impressions from that review, not new physical testing.
