The standard Bell & Ross BR-X3 pairs the brand’s square-within-a-circle case design with BR-CAL.323, an automatic, COSC-certified movement rated for approximately 70 hours of power reserve. The Blue Steel and Black Titanium are both 41 mm; the latter adds a specified 100 m water resistance and grade 2 titanium construction. The strongest case for the BR-X3 is its combination of instrument-style display and a more capable movement than a simple time-and-date calibre. Whether it is the right version depends chiefly on material, price and how much you value the power-reserve display.
What the BR-X3 review covers
This review focuses on the standard BR-X3 Blue Steel and BR-X3 Black Titanium: the 41 mm models equipped with BR-CAL.323. The collection also includes limited editions based on that calibre, as well as 40 mm Micro-Rotor and Tourbillon Micro-Rotor watches with different movements and prices. Those are distinct models, not alternate names for the standard BR-X3. Bell & Ross’s BR-X3 collection lists the family members separately.
The available product and operating information supports a specification-based assessment, not claims about personal comfort, measured accuracy, lume duration or real-world water performance. The movement’s COSC certification is a stated specification; it is not an independent test of an individual watch in this review.
What movement is in the Bell & Ross BR-X3?
The standard Blue Steel and Black Titanium use BR-CAL.323, an automatic mechanical calibre. Bell & Ross’s 2025 BR-X3 user guide identifies it as COSC-certified and gives an approximate 70-hour power reserve. Its functions are central hours, minutes and seconds, a quick-set date, and a power-reserve indicator.

That reserve display is a useful distinction from a basic date-and-time layout: it gives the wearer a visible indication of remaining stored power. Bell & Ross’s product description places the date at 3 o’clock and the reserve display at 9 o’clock, arranged across a multi-plate dial. The layered construction reinforces the instrument-panel character without changing the watch’s core timekeeping functions.
Movement-origin descriptions merit precision. Bell & Ross says the BR-CAL.323 in its Patrouille de France edition was designed specifically for the brand by Kenissi; WatchPro’s launch report describes the launch models’ calibre as developed with Kenissi. Those attributions do not establish that Bell & Ross alone designed or manufactures every component of every BR-CAL.323 movement.
Case size, materials and display
BR-X3 Blue Steel
The collection listing gives the Blue Steel a 41 mm case in steel. Its price and specifications should be checked against the current regional listing, since stock and pricing can change.

BR-X3 Black Titanium
Bell & Ross specifies the Black Titanium as 41 mm wide and 13.3 mm thick, with a grade 2 titanium case. Its product page also lists a screw-down crown, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance and an openworked black rubber strap. These are model-specific published details; they should not automatically be applied to every BR-X3 edition. See the BR-X3 Black Titanium specifications.
Both standard variants share the family’s square case framing a circular dial, but they make different material choices: steel for Blue Steel and titanium for Black Titanium. The dial’s layered plates, date at 3 and reserve indicator at 9 give the movement’s extra information a clear place in the overall instrument-style design.

How large is the BR-X3, and how should the dimensions be read?
The standard Blue Steel and Black Titanium are listed at 41 mm across. For Black Titanium, Bell & Ross additionally specifies 13.3 mm thickness. The Micro-Rotor and Tourbillon Micro-Rotor are 40 mm models, so the family’s shared design language does not mean every BR-X3 has the same case size or movement.

Is the BR-X3 water-resistant?
Bell & Ross specifies 100 m water resistance for the BR-X3 Black Titanium. Its screw-down crown and the manual’s operating instructions are relevant to maintaining the stated water resistance: after setting the watch, screw the crown back to position 0, and do not operate it underwater. The 100 m rating is a manufacturer specification, not a claim that this review tested the watch in water. Do not extend the Black Titanium figure to another edition unless that model’s own specification confirms it.

The Bell & Ross user guide provides the operating instructions for BR-CAL.323. When a stopped watch is fully wound by hand, the guide gives approximately 55 crown rotations; it specifies approximately 70 hours of reserve when fully wound. The automatic mechanism also winds the watch while it is worn.
- To wind a stopped watch, use the crown as directed in the Bell & Ross guide; approximately 55 rotations fully wind it, according to the 2025 manual.
- Set the watch using the crown positions and procedure shown in the guide. After setting, return the crown to position 0 and screw it down to help ensure water resistance.
- Do not operate the crown underwater. Avoid strong magnetic fields, and use Bell & Ross or an approved watchmaker for service.
- Do not unscrew the case attachment screws. The guide labels them and explicitly warns against unscrewing them.
These are manufacturer instructions, not a substitute for the manual supplied with a particular watch or advice from an authorized service professional. The official user-guide page is the reference for operation and care.

Is the BR-X3 Micro-Rotor the same watch?
No. The BR-X3 Micro-Rotor is a separate, 40 mm complication model with BR-CAL.390 according to its product listing; the Tourbillon Micro-Rotor is another separate configuration. Neither should be described as the standard 41 mm BR-X3 with BR-CAL.323. Their distinct movement architecture and substantially different collection-page prices place them in a different comparison from Blue Steel versus Black Titanium.
Verdict: who should consider the BR-X3?
The standard BR-X3 makes the most sense for someone drawn to Bell & Ross’s square-within-a-circle case and who wants the extra information and stated 70-hour reserve of BR-CAL.323. Blue Steel is the lower listed-price route into the standard configuration; Black Titanium provides published titanium, thickness, strap and water-resistance specifications for buyers who prefer that setup. The choice is less clear if your priority is a smaller case, a different complication, independently verified timekeeping results or proven wrist comfort: the information cited here does not establish those outcomes.
Before committing, compare the exact reference and current regional price, check the model-specific technical details, and confirm the applicable warranty terms. Bell & Ross advertises a five-year warranty for the range, but eligibility and local terms can vary; the warranty card and regional conditions govern.
