1. Oura Ring 5 — best smart ring overall
Oura Ring 5 is the most complete recommendation if you want one ring to cover sleep, recovery, activity, stress and women’s health. Its app is mature, works on both major mobile platforms and presents trends clearly. It is also a useful companion to a traditional watch: wear your mechanical or quartz watch when you want the time, then let Oura handle background health tracking.
Oura lists the Ring 5 at 6.09 mm wide and 2.28 mm thick, weighing from 2 g. The company rates battery life at typically six to nine days; the ring comes in sizes 6 through 13. U.S. prices start at $399, with Gold and Deep Rose versions listed at $499.
The unavoidable drawback is the membership. Oura charges $5.99 per month or $69.99 per year in the U.S. Without an active membership, the app shows the Readiness, Activity and Sleep scores, battery status, basic profile information, settings and Explore content; detailed metrics and most advanced features require membership, according to Oura.
That makes the Ring 5 more expensive over time than its sticker price suggests. Oura says it is not merely a renamed Ring 4: the new model has 40% smaller volume, uses a different sizing system and stores up to three days of data without syncing. Ring 4 stores up to seven days, so do not assume the newer ring is identical in every practical detail.
Buy it if: you want the broadest software experience and do not mind paying for it. Skip it if: you want full access to your data without a recurring fee.
2. Samsung Galaxy Ring — best for Samsung Galaxy owners
The Galaxy Ring makes the most sense when it joins an existing Samsung setup. Health data lives in Samsung Health, and the ring can share duties with a compatible Galaxy Watch. Samsung says that pairing can extend Galaxy Ring battery life by up to 30%; when the watch is the primary device, some ring measurements switch off and resume on the ring if the watch runs out of power.
The ring costs $399.99, uses titanium and comes in sizes 5 through 15. Samsung quotes up to six days for sizes 5–11 and up to seven days for sizes 12–15. The charging case takes about 90 minutes to fully charge the ring.
There are important compatibility limits. Galaxy Ring requires an Android 11-or-later phone with more than 1.5 GB of memory and does not work with iPhone. Some gesture controls and Samsung Health functions need a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone rather than a generic Android handset. Snore detection also requires the phone to remain within about two feet and Samsung Health version 6.22 or later, according to Samsung.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThis is a strong choice for someone who already wears a Galaxy Watch but wants sleep and recovery data without sleeping in a watch. It is a less sensible purchase for an iPhone owner or anyone who wants a platform-neutral ring.
3. RingConn Gen 3 — best subscription-free premium option
RingConn Gen 3 is priced at $349 in the U.S. and requires no subscription. RingConn lists titanium and medical-grade epoxy construction, a weight of 2.5–3.5 g, a thickness of 2.3 mm and sizes 6–15. Its claimed battery life is up to 14 days with vibration disabled, or 10–12 days with vibration enabled. It stores up to 10 days of data offline and is rated IP68 and ATM10 for water resistance.

The feature list is ambitious. RingConn highlights vascular-health trend insights, smart vibration alerts, sleep-apnea pattern insights and full-cycle predictions for women’s health. It supports Apple Health and Google Health Connect, and works with iOS 17 or later and Android 10 or later.
Do not confuse trend analysis with clinical measurement. RingConn explicitly says Gen 3 does not measure blood pressure; its vascular feature is for trends rather than individual blood-pressure readings. RingConn also says the product is not a medical device.

There is a practical catch: the official product page currently lists the Gen 3 as out of stock, despite showing a $349 price. Check availability before treating it as an immediate alternative to Oura.
Buy it if: you want a high-end feature set and no subscription. Check first: whether the size and finish you want can actually be ordered.
4. RingConn Gen 2 Air — best budget smart ring
At $199, the Gen 2 Air is the straightforward value choice. RingConn lists it at 2.0 mm thick, weighing 2.5–4 g, in sizes 6–14, with up to 10 days of battery life. There is no subscription fee, which makes the total cost easier to predict than Oura’s.
The compromise is capability. RingConn positions the Air as its essential daily-health tracker, while the regular Gen 2 adds features such as sleep-apnea pattern insights and stretches battery life to a claimed 12 days. The Air is best for sleep, activity and basic wellness trends rather than the most detailed recovery analysis.
It is a good first smart ring for someone who wants an unobtrusive tracker alongside a conventional watch. The software is not as established as Oura’s, but the absence of a monthly charge matters more than app polish for many buyers.
5. Ultrahuman Ring PRO — best battery life
Ultrahuman Ring PRO is listed at $479 in the U.S. The company lists a titanium unibody design, sizes 5–14 and a weight of 3.3–4.8 g. Ultrahuman claims up to 15 days of ring battery life, around 12 days in Turbo Mode and more than 15 days in Chill Mode. Its PRO Charging Case can provide up to 45 days of additional use.
On-ring storage is another strength: Ultrahuman claims up to 250 days of data storage, with up to a year stored on the PRO Charger. That may suit people who travel, leave their phone behind or dislike charging another device every few days.
There is no recurring fee for access to ring data, but this is the most expensive ring in the shortlist. Availability also needs checking. The current U.S. page says “Shipping August 15th onwards,” so it may be available for preorder rather than immediate delivery on the date of this guide.

Do not automatically substitute the older Ring AIR. Ultrahuman’s current U.S. offering is Ring PRO, which was redesigned and cleared for U.S. entry after the Ring AIR import-and-sale dispute connected to Oura patent litigation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.6. Amazfit Helio Ring — best low-cost recovery ring
The Amazfit Helio Ring is listed at $149.99 and is the least expensive option here. Amazfit says it tracks sleep, recovery, readiness, heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and EDA-based stress response. Helio Ring users receive Zepp Aura Premium features without a separate charge, and the ring can combine its data with an Amazfit smartwatch in the Zepp app.
The narrow sizing is the major limitation: only sizes 8, 10 and 12 are supported. That can make a comfortable fit harder to find, especially because finger size changes during the day and overnight. It is best considered by Amazfit watch owners or buyers who mainly want affordable sleep and recovery tracking rather than a broad, platform-neutral ecosystem.
How to choose a smart ring
- Check phone compatibility first. Galaxy Ring is Android-only. Oura and RingConn support iPhone, while every model has its own minimum operating-system requirements.
- Decide whether subscriptions are acceptable. Oura’s $69.99 annual fee buys deeper analysis, but RingConn, Samsung, Ultrahuman and Amazfit do not require a recurring fee for core ring data.
- Measure before ordering. A ring should be snug enough for reliable sensor contact without becoming uncomfortable overnight. Use the manufacturer’s sizing kit where available rather than guessing from a normal jewellery ring.
- Compare real charging habits, not just headline battery claims. Smart-ring battery estimates vary with size, vibration, sensors and software features. Samsung’s size-dependent estimates and RingConn’s vibration-dependent figures illustrate why the headline maximum is not the whole story.
- Think about your watch. A ring is not automatically a replacement for a running watch or smartwatch. It is better at passive, around-the-clock tracking; a watch remains more useful for live pace, GPS, workouts, maps and on-wrist time.
- Treat health measurements as wellness data. These rings can reveal patterns worth discussing with a clinician, but they do not replace medical equipment. In particular, RingConn Gen 3’s vascular trends are not blood-pressure readings.
Are smart rings worth buying if you already own a watch?
Often, yes—provided you want passive tracking more than another screen. A ring is lighter for sleep, less distracting during the day and discreet with formal clothing. It can also fill the gap when a smartwatch is charging or when wearing a screen on the wrist feels inappropriate.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →The overlap is substantial: both devices can record heart rate, activity and sleep. Buying both makes the most sense when the watch handles live workouts, GPS and notifications while the ring handles sleep and recovery. Galaxy Ring is particularly logical beside a Galaxy Watch because Samsung has designed the two to share health data and battery responsibilities.
FAQ
Which smart ring is best overall in 2026?
The Oura Ring 5 is the best overall choice for most buyers because it combines broad health and sleep tracking, an established app and iOS/Android support. Its major disadvantage is the $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annual membership required for detailed features.
What is the best smart ring without a subscription?
RingConn Gen 3 is the strongest premium subscription-free option, with up to 14 days of battery life and an extensive feature set, although its official page currently shows it as out of stock. For a cheaper option, consider the RingConn Gen 2 Air at $199.
Does the Samsung Galaxy Ring work with an iPhone?
No. Galaxy Ring requires an Android 11-or-later phone and is designed to work best with Samsung Galaxy phones. Oura Ring 5 and RingConn models are better choices for iPhone owners.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Can a smart ring measure blood pressure?
The rings in this guide should not be treated as blood-pressure monitors. RingConn Gen 3 provides vascular-health trends but explicitly does not measure individual blood-pressure readings, and smart rings are not substitutes for medical devices.
The Bottom Line
For the widest range of useful health and sleep features, buy Oura Ring 5—but budget for its membership. Samsung Galaxy owners get the best ecosystem fit from Galaxy Ring. If you want no subscription, RingConn Gen 2 Air is the sensible value pick, while RingConn Gen 3 is the more advanced choice when available. Ultrahuman Ring PRO leads on claimed battery life, and Amazfit Helio Ring is the inexpensive recovery-focused option for buyers who fit its limited size range.
