Blancpain lists the F388B at 5 Hz and says it provides 1/10-second precision. That is a specification, not an independent measurement of accuracy in use. The 3 bar water-resistance rating should not be read as a diving-watch rating or as evidence that swimming is appropriate. Blancpain’s listing describes the strap as interchangeable and gives a 22 mm width between the horns; compatibility and fit of any replacement strap depend on the specific strap and fastening.
How the announced camouflage editions compare
Blancpain announced two camouflage-green Air Command flyback chronographs on 22 October 2024. Both were described as grade 23 titanium models with bidirectional countdown bezels, ceramic inserts and luminous markings. The collection page also highlights a gold reference, but the available official material does not provide its full specifications or price. Those gaps do not support a reliable value ranking across the collection.
What Blancpain says about the Air Command’s history
Blancpain traces the historical Air Command to a 1950s effort to meet a U.S. Air Force need for a high-precision chronograph. The brand says the watches were offered to American pilots through distributor Allen V. Tornek, that it is thought to have made a dozen prototypes, and that production was probably very limited. In its historical account, Blancpain notes similarities between the Air Command’s flyback chronograph and countdown rotating bezel and features in French Air Force Type 20/21 specifications. That is a comparison, not proof that the Air Command was officially adopted to those specifications. The brand says the watch’s rarity makes its history difficult to trace.
