Blancpain’s 45 mm titanium limited edition emphasizes a five-day reserve, a light-absorbing dial and a stated marine-conservation contribution; Rolex’s 43 mm Oystersteel model pairs a 1,220-metre rating with an Oyster bracelet and Glidelock adjustment. The better fit depends on which characteristics matter to you—and on availability: Blancpain’s page showed the 100-piece BOC IV as sold out on October 7, 2026.

Specifications are manufacturer claims, not a substitute for a wrist try-on or dive assessment. Blancpain’s figures come from its March 2025 release and official product page; Rolex specifications are on its Sea-Dweller product page.
Which case will suit your wrist?
Blancpain: larger diameter, specified thickness
The BOC IV measures 45 mm across and 14.1 mm thick. That is the larger stated diameter in this comparison, and its thickness is documented, so shoppers can use both figures as a starting point when assessing wrist presence. The integrated rubber strap gives the watch a continuous case-to-strap look, but dimensions alone cannot establish how it will sit or feel on a particular wrist.
Rolex: 43 mm, with no thickness figure on the reviewed page
The Sea-Dweller 126600 measures 43 mm across. Rolex’s reviewed product page does not state its thickness, so there is no sourced thickness comparison to make here. Its Oyster bracelet, Oysterlock clasp and Glidelock extension are useful design distinctions; the official specification does not establish how comfortable either watch will feel in daily wear.

If size and fit are decisive, try each watch on where possible. Neither diameter nor strap or bracelet design can reliably predict comfort for every wrist.
Materials, water resistance and helium valves
Blancpain uses Grade 23 titanium for the BOC IV case and rates the watch to 30 bar. Rolex uses Oystersteel for the Sea-Dweller and specifies water resistance of 1,220 metres (4,000 feet). These are the manufacturers’ ratings; neither number by itself is a recommendation for a particular dive or a guarantee that a given depth is appropriate for an individual diver.

- Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Automatic Blue Dial Men's Watch 5100-1140-O52A
Both models have a helium escape valve, a feature associated with saturation-diving use. Its presence does not make either watch a substitute for dive planning, training or equipment suited to the actual conditions. The two ratings differ substantially, but a buyer choosing a watch for ordinary recreational diving should not treat the higher figure as the only meaningful measure.
Movement, reserve and dial visibility
Power reserve: 120 hours versus approximately 70
Blancpain specifies 120 hours—five days—for the automatic calibre 1315A, which has a silicon balance spring. Rolex specifies an approximately 70-hour reserve for the automatic calibre 3235. The reserve figures describe how long a fully wound movement is stated to run without further winding; they do not, on their own, show which watch keeps time more accurately in real-world use.
Rank #3
Different approaches to the black dial
Blancpain says the BOC IV’s dial absorbs up to 97% of light. That is the manufacturer’s stated figure for its absolute-black dial, rather than an independent measurement in this comparison. Rolex specifies a black dial with blue Chromalight luminescence. Both use black dials, but their documented treatments differ; no comparative visibility or lume-duration test is established here.
Limited edition and conservation contribution
Blancpain’s March 2025 release describes the Tech BOC IV as a 100-piece limited edition. The company states that 1,000 euros from each watch sold would be allocated to the Blancpain x Sulubaaï Marine Research Center, for a total intended fund of 100,000 euros. This is Blancpain’s stated allocation and intended total, not an independently verified assessment of the resulting conservation impact.
Rank #4
- Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Automatic White Dial Ladies Watch 5100-1127-W52A
The Sea-Dweller is presented by Rolex as the 126600 reference, not as a limited-edition counterpart to the BOC IV. The conservation-linked contribution is therefore a distinctive part of Blancpain’s documented proposition, while it is not a stated feature of the Rolex specification.

Blancpain’s official product page displayed the BOC IV as sold out when accessed on October 7, 2026. That status means the page did not present it as available new from Blancpain; it does not prove that pre-owned examples cannot be found. The reviewed sources do not establish current market prices or secondary-market availability.
For the Sea-Dweller 126600, Rolex says that only official Rolex retailers may sell and maintain its watches. The product page does not establish live stock at any particular retailer. No current price, discount or resale value is established by the sources cited here, so compare verified offers directly rather than assuming either watch is available at a particular price.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Blancpain if you want the documented 45 mm titanium case, integrated rubber strap, five-day stated reserve, distinctive dial claim and a 100-piece edition with Blancpain’s stated conservation allocation. Its official page showed it sold out, so finding one may require checking availability beyond that page.
- Consider the Rolex if you prefer a 43 mm Oystersteel watch with an Oyster bracelet, Glidelock adjustment and the manufacturer’s 1,220-metre rating. Confirm availability with an official Rolex retailer; the listing itself does not show a particular retailer’s stock.
- Try both on if wrist fit, thickness or bracelet-versus-rubber comfort is central. The documented dimensions are useful for narrowing the choice, but they cannot replace a fit check.
Neither specification sheet establishes a universal winner. The BOC IV is the more limited, titanium-and-rubber option with the longer stated reserve; the Sea-Dweller is the Oystersteel bracelet watch with the higher stated water-resistance rating. Your preference, fit and access to a verified example should decide between them.
