How it differs from the Tech Gombessa
Blancpain describes the BOC IV as adopting the Tech Gombessa design, but the two models do not share the same dive-timing setup. The BOC IV has a unidirectional bezel and date. The Tech Gombessa was designed around a three-hour bezel and a dedicated dive-time hand to track immersion periods of up to three hours. That makes the BOC IV a design relative, not an identical timing instrument. Blancpain’s Tech Gombessa announcement.
What Blancpain says the conservation contribution supports
Blancpain says €1,000 from each BOC IV sold will go to the Blancpain x Sulubaaï Marine Research Center, with a total fund of €100,000 for the 100-piece edition. The brand says the center was inaugurated on 7 February 2025 and describes it as an extension of its Sea Academy program.
