The Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet 6654 combines a day, date, month and moon-phase display in a 40 mm steel watch powered by the automatic caliber 6654.4. “Complete calendar” describes the indications it shows; it is not a perpetual calendar, so it does not automatically account for leap years or months of different lengths. Blancpain says its under-lug correctors are designed to let owners adjust the calendar indications at any time of day, but the manual remains the right guide to the setting sequence.

What the 6654 calendar displays

The French term Quantième Complet means complete calendar. On the 6654, the calendar indications are day, date and month, accompanied by a moon-phase display. That combination gives the watch a broad view of the calendar, but it does not make it perpetual: the watch does not automatically account for differing month lengths or leap years, so calendar indications require correction when necessary.

The moon phase is a separate display from the calendar. Blancpain describes the cited model’s mechanism as using a 59-tooth wheel to follow a 29.5-day lunar cycle. That is the manufacturer’s explanation of the mechanism, not an independently measured accuracy claim. Blancpain’s grey-dial steel 6654 1113 MMB specification provides the cycle and wheel details.

Movement and calendar adjustment

The cited steel references use Blancpain’s automatic caliber 6654.4. On the 6654 1113 MMB product page, Blancpain specifies a 72-hour power reserve, 4 Hz frequency, 28 jewels, 321 components, a silicon balance spring and a movement thickness of 5.32 mm. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.

Calendar watches can be more demanding to set than watches with only a date indication. Blancpain says the 6654 movement is secured to let the wearer adjust calendar indications at any time of day using patented correctors beneath the lugs. That is the maker’s stated design purpose, not a guarantee against damage in every circumstance or a substitute for following the instructions. Consult the owner’s manual linked from the relevant product page for the correct adjustment sequence.

Case size and other listed specifications

For the cited steel references, Blancpain lists a 40.00 mm case diameter, 10.90 mm case thickness, 22.00 mm width between the horns and 3 bar water resistance. The 6654 1113 MMB listing also specifies a sapphire caseback. These figures apply to the referenced configurations; they should not be treated as universal specifications for every historical or precious-metal 6654.

A 3 bar water-resistance rating is a specification, not a promise of suitability for every water activity. Follow Blancpain’s guidance for the specific watch and its condition.

How the cited 6654 references differ

The suffix identifies a particular configuration, so compare full reference numbers rather than assuming every 6654 has the same dial or strap. Blancpain’s cited listings document steel cases and caliber 6654.4, with differences in dial color and fittings:

The cited pages do not establish current prices, country-specific availability or whether each suffix remains in production. Confirm those details with Blancpain or an authorized retailer in the market where you plan to buy. A listed 22 mm width between the horns can help when assessing strap fit, but verify compatibility with the exact reference before choosing another strap.

Design context

The complete calendar and moon phase are presented as signature complications of the Villeret collection. The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève notes the blued serpentine date hand as a reference to 18th-century watchmaking tradition. Blancpain’s own history dates the collection’s recognizable double-stepped bezel and understated style to 1983, alongside the launch of a complete-calendar moon-phase watch. Those are design and brand-history contexts, not assessments of the 6654’s performance.

What “hands-on” can—and cannot—tell you here

The available evidence for this article is manufacturer specification and design material, not a physical examination of a watch. It supports a clear account of the display, movement, dimensions and documented reference differences; it does not establish wrist comfort, finishing impressions, setting experience, timekeeping results or durability in use. A prospective buyer should handle the exact reference and confirm its configuration and current status before making a decision.
