What the Dune White dial looks like in person
Goulard’s Monochrome hands-on review emphasizes that the dial is cream rather than plain white, with a matte, finely grained finish. Its black printed numerals and batons stand out against the pale background. Mark Kauzlarich’s Hodinkee review also finds the new dial balanced and legible, while noting that the curled forms of the 6 and 9 may look unusual to some eyes. Those are individual visual impressions, not standardized measurements.
The lighter dial changes the watch’s character without changing its basic tool-watch layout. Against the black version, Dune White feels less stark and gives the markers a different contrast. If you prefer a high-contrast, familiar black face, the original dial remains the more straightforward choice; if you want a warmer, lighter look, Dune White supplies that variation without decorative complications.

How the lume differs from the black dial
