The original Circula Facet is a 38 mm steel sports watch whose sharp, intersecting geometry runs from its case and bracelet to its dial, hands, and indexes. Its core specification is compelling on paper: a La Joux-Perret G100 Soigné automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. The hands-on impressions below are Thomas Van Straaten’s 2024 review for Fratello, not a report of independent testing.
What makes the Circula Facet 38 distinctive?
Circula frames the Facet as a 38 mm steel sports watch built around intersecting linear surfaces. The faceting is not confined to the case: the H-link bracelet, dial pattern, hands, and indexes all continue the geometric theme. That gives the watch a more unified, deliberately angular look than a conventional round-cased sports watch with a plain dial.
The brand says the dial pattern evokes concentrically arranged gear teeth. Van Straaten, writing for Fratello in 2024, saw it differently: to him, the pattern looked like a mosaic. Those are two distinct readings of a conspicuous design feature, rather than a technical distinction.

How does the Facet wear, according to the review?
Van Straaten praised the case and bracelet for their proportions, coherent design, and finishing, and said the watch felt comfortable on his forearm. His reservations were more specific to the dial: he found its mosaic-like pattern busy, and the rose-tone details and mint-green lume distracting for his taste. These are one reviewer’s impressions from 2024, not a guarantee of how the watch will look or fit on another wrist.
At 38 mm across and 44 mm lug-to-lug, the original model has compact stated dimensions, but those figures alone cannot establish fit for every wrist. If possible, try the chosen bracelet or strap configuration in person; the Facet’s angular surfaces and patterned dial can affect its visual presence as much as its measurements do.

Dial, strap, bracelet, and clasp choices
Fratello described the original 38 mm launch range in silver, petrol, and brown. Each could be paired with a dial-matching suede strap or a steel H-link bracelet. Bracelet versions were described with either a butterfly clasp or a deployant clasp with micro-adjustment.
- Suede strap: A softer, less integrated look than the steel bracelet, with the strap color matched to the dial in the launch options reported by Fratello.
- Steel H-link bracelet: Carries the case’s faceted treatment onto the wrist and was one of the elements Van Straaten singled out for its finishing.
- Clasp choice: The launch configurations included a butterfly clasp or a deployant clasp with micro-adjustment. Confirm the clasp supplied on the exact variant, since configurations and availability may change.
Circula’s current Facet pages list variants from €1,690, with some bracelet configurations priced higher. That is the manufacturer’s current listing at the time this article was prepared; confirm the selected dial, strap or bracelet, clasp, currency, applicable taxes, and stock on the official product page before ordering. Fratello’s euro and dollar figures refer to 2024 presale pricing and are not current price guidance.

Facet 38 versus the later Facet 41 and special edition
The Facet 41 and the seven-piece guilloché edition are separate later developments. Their dimensions, configurations, and reported prices should not be treated as specifications or prices for the original Facet 38.
| Model | What is reported | Price context |
|---|---|---|
| Original Facet 38 | 38 mm diameter; Fratello reported 44 mm lug-to-lug, 10 mm thickness, and 100 m water resistance for the original model. | Circula’s current Facet pages list variants from €1,690, with higher prices for some bracelet configurations. Check the chosen listing for exact terms. |
| Facet 41 | WatchTime reported on September 25, 2026, that the expanded line included Petrol, Snow White, Anthracite, and Blue dials, a 9.9 mm case, G100 movement, 68-hour reserve, and 100 m water resistance. | WatchTime reported starting prices of $1,690 on leather and $1,990 on bracelet. These are its reported prices and market context, not current pricing for the Facet 38. |
| Facet special edition | WatchTime reported on February 26, 2026, a seven-piece edition with a hand-guilloché sterling-silver dial by Jochen Benzinger, made on a historic rose engine. It reported a 38 mm case, 9.9 mm height, 100 m water resistance, and G100 movement with a 68-hour reserve. | WatchTime gave a launch price of $5,340 including taxes and said sales began through Circula’s online shop on February 26, 2026. Current availability is not established. |
The 41 mm is the larger-size option in the reported later line, while the original remains the 38 mm model. The seven-piece edition is distinguished by its hand-guilloché silver dial, not simply by being another standard Facet 38 configuration.

Who should consider the Facet 38?
The Facet 38 is most relevant to someone who wants a mechanical steel sports watch whose surface treatment is the main event: the geometry carries through the case, bracelet, dial, and applied details. The reported 68-hour reserve, date display, and 100 m water resistance add practical specifications, while the strap and bracelet variants let buyers choose between a less integrated strap look and a matching steel ensemble.
Its patterned dial is also the principal subjective risk. Van Straaten admired the execution of the case and bracelet but did not find the dial treatment or its accent colors equally persuasive. His verdict in Fratello’s November 30, 2024 review was: “All in all, I think Circula delivers a very capable watch at an attractive price.” That was his opinion at the time, not a current comparison of prices.
