“Virtuoso VII” covers more than one configuration, so its name alone is not enough to identify a watch’s dimensions, metal or price. The principal reference here is ACQPR003, which the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) records as a red-gold, manual-winding Virtuoso VII launched in 2016. Its record lists a 100-piece limited series and a historical price of CHF 69,000 excluding VAT. Those figures belong to that record; they are not a current price or availability quote. The watch’s appeal is as much about presentation as complication. The perpetual calendar supplies several calendar indications, the retrograde date gives the display a distinctive format, and the reversible Amadeo case is intended to let the owner use the piece in different ways. Those are design propositions, not evidence of independent performance testing or long-term ownership experience.

How the perpetual calendar and retrograde date shape the watch
Calendar coverage
A perpetual calendar is designed to account for differing month lengths, rather than treating every month as the same number of days. For ACQPR003, GPHG lists date, day, month and year among the indications. Retrograde date
The retrograde date is part of the model’s identity, but the available specifications do not establish the exact layout or the mechanics of its return. The Amadeo case: more than a wristwatch format
Bovet describes its Amadeo system as allowing the watch to be reversed and converted among wristwatch, pocket-watch and desk-clock uses without tools. In a March 3, 2022 article about a grade 5 titanium Virtuoso VII, the manufacturer writes: “The timepiece also converts from the wrist to a pocket watch or a desk clock, all without any tools.” Bovet: Virtuoso VII.
That flexibility changes how the watch can be presented: it can be worn, carried or placed for display. It is best understood as a design and display feature, not proof that changing formats is more convenient for daily use or that the case is more durable. The 2022 article describes a particular titanium configuration and should not be used to assign its material or other variant-specific details to ACQPR003.

Do not confuse ACQPR003 with other Virtuoso VII versions
A separate GPHG entry covers the 2020 grey-gold ACQPR012. It lists a 43.30 mm diameter, 11.25 mm thickness, 120-hour power reserve, skeleton movement, 60-piece limited series and CHF 82,000 including VAT. Its calendar description includes date, day, month and leap-year indications. These are details of ACQPR012, not the 2016 red-gold ACQPR003. GPHG: 2020 Bovet Virtuoso VII.

The comparison shows why a reference number matters: the 2020 entry is substantially thinner than ACQPR003, while the 2022 article concerns a titanium version. Do not use one variant’s specifications or price as a proxy for another.
