The Breguet Classique Souscription 2025 and OMEGA Seamaster 37 mm Milano Cortina 2026 share gold cases and Grand Feu enamel dials, but they answer different priorities. Breguet offers a one-hand, hand-wound design built around its 250th-anniversary Souscription story; OMEGA pairs a smaller case with three-hand legibility, automatic winding and a commemorative Olympic caseback. The more suitable choice depends on which design, wearing routine and features matter most to you.

Specifications are from the manufacturers’ product information: Breguet and OMEGA Hong Kong. Diameter alone does not determine fit: the OMEGA’s stated lug-to-lug measurement is 45 mm, while the cited Breguet specification gives lug width but not lug-to-lug length.
How the two watches differ in daily use
Reading the time
The Breguet’s single hand is the most consequential difference. It reflects the Souscription concept and gives the dial a deliberately spare appearance, but it does not provide the familiar separate hour, minute and seconds indications. The OMEGA’s three hands make it the more conventional choice for quick, precise time reading.
Winding and reserve
The Breguet is manually wound and has a 96-hour power reserve. Its routine includes winding by hand, while its longer stated reserve means it can run longer between full winds than the OMEGA’s 55-hour reserve, assuming both are fully wound and operating as specified. The OMEGA winds automatically through wear, though it can still stop if left unworn long enough. The preference is practical and personal, not a measure of overall movement quality.

Caseback and water resistance
Breguet gives the movement visual prominence through a sapphire display back. OMEGA instead uses a solid back bearing a Milano Cortina 2026 medallion. The OMEGA also has the higher stated water resistance at 10 bar / 100 m, compared with 3 BAR for the Breguet. A rating is not a guarantee for every activity or condition; follow the manufacturer’s guidance for use and maintenance.
Case size, gold and wearing proportions
The OMEGA has the smaller stated diameter at 37 mm versus the Breguet’s 40 mm, but it is slightly thicker: 11.35 mm against 10.8 mm. The OMEGA’s published 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement can help assess its footprint; a matching figure is not stated on Breguet’s cited product page. Try-on remains useful, since case shape, lugs, strap and wrist proportions all affect how a watch wears.

Both cases are 18K gold, but the alloys are brand-specific. Swatch Group says Breguet gold combines gold, silver, copper and palladium, with gold comprising 75 percent of the alloy. OMEGA identifies its case material as Moonshine Gold. The choice is therefore not simply between gold and another material, but between distinct shades and finishing identities.
Two different commemorative stories
Breguet: the Souscription idea and the 250th anniversary
Breguet presents the 2025 Classique Souscription as a wristwatch revival of the single-hand Souscription concept, released in the brand’s 250th-anniversary year. Its one-hand display, Grand Feu enamel dial and visible movement reinforce that historically focused design. The VS00 movement has a Nivachron balance spring, according to Breguet’s product information.

OMEGA: Milano Cortina 2026 and Olympic timekeeping
OMEGA announced its Milano Cortina 2026 edition on 5 February 2025, a year before the planned opening ceremony. Its white enamel dial, gold markers and dauphine hands accompany the Olympic medallion on the caseback. OMEGA describes the watch in the context of its Olympic timekeeping relationship. President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said: “This timepiece represents our Olympic excellence since Los Angeles,” adding that the Seamaster 37 mm design has remained consistent since the Melbourne 1956 Games while its timekeeping technology has evolved. This is the company’s characterization of its history and product.
OMEGA’s launch release identifies the movement as Calibre 8807 and says its Master Chronometer certification tests are certified by METAS. That provides a named certification framework; it does not, by itself, establish a head-to-head accuracy advantage over the Breguet.

- Compact 37mm Automatic Dive Watch: The stainless steel case gives this men’s mechanical dive watch a balanced vintage skin diver profile without the oversized feel of many modern divers. The compact size is comfortable for daily wear, travel and smaller-to-medium wrists, while the rotating bezel keeps a classic tool-watch look.
- PT5004 Mechanical Movement: Powered by a PT5004 automatic movement, this self-winding wrist watch offers a smooth 28,800 bph sweep, hacking seconds and hand-winding support. It is made for buyers who want a real automatic watch with stronger mechanical feel, daily reliability and more engagement than a standard quartz watch.
- Sapphire Crystal and 200m Water Resistance: The sapphire crystal helps protect the dial from daily scratches caused by keys, cuffs and desk use. A screw-down crown supports 200m water resistance, making this automatic dive watch suitable for daily wear, rain, hand washing, swimming and water-related activities.
- Rotating Bezel and Luminous Dial: A clean timing bezel, bold hour markers and luminous hands make the dial easy to read in changing light. The vintage diver layout works well for commuting, casual outfits, travel, light outdoor use and everyday timing tasks while keeping the watch simple and not overly busy.
- Vintage Skin Diver Style for Daily Wear: Designed with a compact case, clear dial and classic dive-style bezel, this men’s automatic watch combines vintage character with modern materials. It works as a daily mechanical watch for casual wear, weekend use, travel and collectors who prefer smaller automatic dive watches.
Price evidence and availability
Breguet’s official page directs prospective buyers to contact a point of sale for its recommended retail price. Fratello reported €53,800 for the Breguet and €21,400 for the OMEGA in a comparison published on 6 November 2025; those are dated secondary-source euro figures, not current universal quotations. OMEGA Japan listed ¥3,421,000 when its product page was accessed on 7 October 2026. That is a Japan-market listing, not a global price.
These figures come from different markets and sources, so they should not be directly converted into a current like-for-like price comparison. Check local taxes, availability and retailer pricing for the market where you plan to buy. Sources: Breguet product page, OMEGA Japan product page, and Fratello’s November 2025 comparison.

- PT5004 AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT: The no-date mechanical movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour for a smooth display. Manual winding and stop-seconds adjustment make setting convenient.
- COMPACT 37MM DIVE WATCH: A 37mm case and 45.5mm lug-to-lug profile balance wrist presence with compact proportions. The 11.2mm case measurement excludes the crystal, and the lug width is 20mm.
- FIVE DIAL OPTIONS: Choose sunray red, sunray black, matte frosted light blue or matte dark blue, paired with red, black or steel-tone bezel designs. The no-date layout keeps every color clean and balanced.
- AR SAPPHIRE & 200M WATER RESISTANCE: BGW9 and vintage-tone lume support low-light reading beneath the AR-coated sapphire crystal. The screw-down crown and rotating bezel suit timing and water-ready use.
- FIVE-LINK STAINLESS STEEL BRACELET: The articulated 316L stainless steel bracelet complements the compact case with a polished-sport character. Its OTF adjustable clasp allows quick fit changes without removing links.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Breguet if you want the one-hand display, manual winding, longer stated power reserve, movement visibility and a watch centered on Breguet’s anniversary heritage.
- Choose the OMEGA if you prefer familiar three-hand reading, automatic winding, the smaller stated diameter, higher stated water resistance or the Milano Cortina Olympic design.
- Compare in person if fit is decisive: the OMEGA is smaller across the case diameter but thicker, and the available lug measurements are not identical in scope.
- Confirm the local price before deciding: the published figures above are not a same-market, same-date retail comparison.
Neither is an objective winner: the Breguet prioritizes a distinctive historical display and movement presentation, while the OMEGA favors conventional functionality and an event-specific caseback.
