Its appeal is historical and visual: a 41 mm pink-gold case about 7.08 mm thick, a hand-guilloché gold dial and an unusually positioned tourbillon. The CHF 158,000 figure reported for the model is its launch-era price, not a verified current offer or valuation.
Why Breguet made the 5365
The reference commemorates the 220th anniversary of Abraham-Louis Breguet’s tourbillon patent, granted in Paris on 26 June 1801. The 2021 watch is a modern interpretation of that milestone, not a reproduction of an 1801 timepiece. Fondation Haute Horlogerie documents the patent date on its model reference page.
Breguet limited the edition to 35 pieces, a number presented as corresponding to the tourbillon watches made during Abraham-Louis Breguet’s lifetime. That gives the edition a specific historical rationale, rather than rarity being an incidental marketing number. The 2021 launch and the edition rationale are described by Monochrome Watches.
Case and proportions
The case is pink gold, 41 mm in diameter and approximately 7.08 mm thick. A fluted caseband, welded lugs and screw bars carry familiar Breguet design cues. Sapphire crystal is fitted on the front and back, while a brown alligator strap and folding clasp are the documented supplied configuration.

The slim stated thickness is a notable proportion for a watch with an automatic winding system and tourbillon. Measurements alone cannot establish how it will sit on a particular wrist; no firsthand wear assessment is available. The case is rated to 30 m water resistance, a specification that should not be read as a recommendation for swimming or water sports.
Dial: two guilloché patterns and a low-set tourbillon
The gold dial combines Clous de Paris guilloché at the centre with grain d’orge guilloché around the periphery. A circular-brushed chapter ring separates the textures, and the hands sit off-centre. Secret signatures add another traditional Breguet detail.
The one-minute tourbillon occupies an unusual position between 4 and 6 o’clock, framed by a blued-steel bridge. Its location makes the regulator a prominent part of the dial rather than a conventional opening at 6. The design also omits the power-reserve display found on related executions, leaving more uninterrupted space for the guilloché. These dial and case details are described in the model coverage by Monochrome Watches.
Calibre 581: automatic winding in an ultra-thin tourbillon
The 5365 is powered by Breguet Calibre 581. The reported specifications describe an automatic movement with a peripheral rotor, 33 jewels, an 80-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4 Hz. Its one-minute tourbillon is visible from the dial side beneath the blued-steel bridge.

Those details connect the movement’s finishing to the anniversary theme. They are published specifications and descriptions, not the results of independent timing tests: no accuracy or hands-on movement testing is established here.
Breguet 5365 price: launch figure, not a current valuation
Price references for the 5365 need to be read according to source and date. The available figures are not interchangeable: one is a 2021 launch price, one is an indicated price on an undated institutional page, and one is an auction estimate for a specific example.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How the 5365 differs from the 5367 and 5377
The 5367 and 5377 are identified as related Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat variants, but the available model coverage does not provide a complete current side-by-side specification or price comparison. The clearest distinction established for the 5365 is its anniversary treatment: the 35-piece edition, patent-watercolor reference and dial layout without a power-reserve display. A buyer comparing references should verify the exact specification, condition, provenance and dated price for each individual watch rather than assume that related names mean identical configurations.

Verdict
The 5365 is best understood as a historically framed, highly limited dress watch, not as a demonstrated accuracy upgrade. Its strongest case is the way it joins a precise patent anniversary to distinctive execution: a thin pink-gold profile, richly worked dial, low-set tourbillon and movement details tied to the 1801 story. The published CHF 158,000 price is useful as launch context, but the available evidence does not establish what a buyer should pay today.
