What is the Breguet Tradition Tourbillon Fusée 7047?
The 7047 is a high-complication watch in Breguet’s Tradition collection. Its manually wound Calibre 569 brings the regulating mechanism and much of the movement architecture to the dial side, where the tourbillon and fusee-chain are prominent rather than hidden behind the watch. The hours and minutes appear on a smaller, off-center dial, leaving much of the mechanism visible.
The layout draws on the architecture of Breguet’s subscription and à tact watches, according to Swatch Group’s account of the collection. A 2022 blue-accented version adds blue treatments to the tourbillon carriage and dial, with thermally blued chain links. The appearance and specifications can vary by reference; confirm the version being offered rather than assuming every 7047 is identical.
How do the fusee-chain and tourbillon work?
Fusee-chain: managing changing mainspring force
As a mainspring unwinds, its force changes. In the 7047, a chain connects the mainspring barrel to a cone-shaped fusee. When the spring is strongly wound, the chain acts on the fusee’s smaller circumference; as spring force falls, it moves to a wider part. The changing leverage is intended to even out the torque delivered to the movement. Breguet says the aim is improved rate regularity, not a guarantee of a particular accuracy or a published independent test result (Breguet product page; 7047 instructions for use).

Tourbillon: rotating the regulating assembly
The tourbillon places the regulating parts in a rotating cage. Breguet’s manual describes its historical purpose as compensating for rate differences associated with changes in watch position. That design intention does not, by itself, demonstrate that this wristwatch will keep better time than a non-tourbillon watch in everyday wear; no independent comparative accuracy result is established in the published sources cited here.

The figures below do not all describe a single confirmed configuration. Breguet’s current product listing for reference 7047PT/11/9ZU differs from the Swatch Group’s 2022 announcement and the Fondation Haute Horlogerie listing. The available sources do not explain the discrepancy, so the figures should remain attributed to their particular listing.

What does the Breguet 7047 cost?
Breguet’s product page does not show a recommended retail price; it directs prospective buyers to contact a point of sale. Fondation Haute Horlogerie lists an indicated price of CHF 185,300, while Monochrome reported EUR 184,900 including VAT for the 950-platinum model in its review dated 11 August 2021. These are separate, market- and time-specific listings, not interchangeable current quotes for every 7047 reference. Ask Breguet or an authorized retailer for the current price, applicable taxes and availability of the exact reference.

Breguet’s operating instructions recommend winding the watch daily, preferably at a regular time. Wind until resistance is felt, do not force the crown at that point, and turn it downward at least one quarter turn afterward to release the winding train. The manual states water resistance of 3 bar (30 m) with the crown in position 1, its neutral position. That rating is conditional on the crown position; it should not be read as a general invitation to use the watch for swimming or diving.

- Movement figures: Ask which power-reserve and component-count specifications apply to that reference. Published sources list both 50 and 55 hours, and both 499 and 542 components.
