Breguet’s 2024 announcement introduced two Classique creations for the Year of the Dragon, but it did not identify them as references 5345 and 7145. One is described as a double-tourbillon watch with a hand-engraved gold dragon holding mother-of-pearl; the other is limited to eight pieces and pairs a crimson red “grand feu” enamel dial with a hand-engraved gold dragon. The distinction matters: Breguet’s documented 5345 specifications belong to the separately presented Classique Double Tourbillon Quai de l’Horloge, while the 7145 page located for comparison is a Year of the Snake edition.
What Breguet announced for the Year of the Dragon
Breguet’s official 2024 announcement describes two exclusive Classique creations. The first combines two tourbillons with a hand-engraved gold dragon holding mother-of-pearl. For the second, Breguet specifies a crimson red “grand feu” enamel dial topped by a hand-engraved gold dragon and says the edition is limited to eight pieces. Breguet’s announcement does not provide reference numbers or a complete technical specification for either watch.
That leaves a gap between the announcement and the title’s reference numbers: the available official description does not establish that the two Dragon watches are the 5345 and 7145. It is safest to discuss the Dragon designs by their confirmed features, not assign them unverified references.
What the 5345 reference actually confirms
Breguet separately documents the Classique Double Tourbillon Quai de l’Horloge reference 5345BR/1S/5XU. Its current product page lists a rose-gold case, manually wound calibre 588N2, 740 components, a 46 mm diameter and a 60-hour power reserve. The product page also describes two tourbillons linked by a central differential: each tourbillon completes one rotation per minute, while the exposed mechanism rotates over 12 hours. Breguet’s 5345 model page and launch article support those details for the 5345, not automatically for a Dragon edition.

The 5345’s engraved movement back
Breguet’s launch article says the 5345’s movement-back engraving took more than one hundred hours and depicts an aerial view of Abraham-Louis Breguet’s workshop at 39 Quai de l’Horloge. This is a detail of the documented 5345, distinct from the Dragon motifs described in the Year of the Dragon announcement.
Why the 7145 identification is not established
The 7145 page available for comparison describes a Year of the Snake edition, not evidence that the reference was used for a Year of the Dragon watch. Breguet’s 7145 Year of the Snake page therefore cannot close the reference gap in the Dragon announcement. Until Breguet or another reliable source explicitly connects a Dragon creation to 7145, that identification remains unconfirmed.

What can—and cannot—be compared
The official Dragon announcement provides design and edition-size information, while the separate 5345 materials provide model-specific technical details. They do not provide a like-for-like specification sheet for both Dragon creations.
