What changed with the 2023 Avenger collection?
Breitling introduced the watches as a redesigned Avenger family, with options organized around three functions: time and date, a second time zone, and chronograph timing. Night Mission chronographs instead pair ceramic cases and bezels with titanium components, making material choice a central distinction within the chronograph branch.

Breitling’s campaign describes the collection as “newly redesigned” and says the Avenger “was built for jet pilots.” Those are the brand’s descriptions, not independent assessments of performance or suitability.

The dimensions, reserves, and water-resistance ratings in this table are Breitling specifications, not independent measurements. The 42 mm and 44 mm figures alone cannot establish how either watch will fit a particular wrist.

Avenger Automatic 42: the three-hand option
The Automatic 42 is the family’s simpler mechanical choice. Breitling specifies its Caliber 17 with approximately 38 hours of power reserve. The product page for reference A17328101B1A1 lists a 42 mm steel case, 12.15 mm thickness, 22 mm lug width, and 300 m water resistance. These are manufacturer-published figures for that cited variant; configurations and specifications should be checked against the exact reference.
Breitling offers steel models with bracelet or military-leather-strap configurations, but exact options vary by model and reference. The 22 mm lug width listed for this Automatic 42 does not by itself confirm that an aftermarket strap or bracelet will fit another Avenger reference.

Avenger Automatic GMT 44: reading a second time zone
The GMT 44 uses Breitling Caliber 32 and has a stated power reserve of approximately 42 hours. Breitling’s product page for reference A32320101B1X1 lists a 44 mm case, 12.05 mm thickness, and 300 m water resistance. The campaign explains that the red GMT hand is read against the 24-hour rotating bezel to track a second time zone, which Breitling calls Zulu time.
This model’s larger stated diameter and additional time-zone indication are practical points to compare with the Automatic 42. Its case is slightly thinner according to the respective product pages, but those dimensions do not predict comfort or wrist presence without trying the watch on.

B01 Chronograph 44 and Night Mission materials
The B01 Chronograph 44 adds chronograph timing, with Breitling identifying Manufacture Caliber 01, a rotating 60-minute bezel, and square pushers. The collection campaign also notes colored-dial versions. It does not provide a complete numerical specification set for the steel chronograph in the material cited here.
Night Mission is the name Breitling uses for ceramic chronograph variants. On the described configuration, the case and bezel are ceramic; the caseback, crown, pushers, and buckle are titanium. Breitling identifies a carbon-fiber dial on the black-dial version. These material descriptions do not, on their own, establish how the watch feels, wears, or performs in use.
