Movement and accuracy claims
Breitling lists the self-winding Caliber 37 with about 38 hours of power reserve, a 28,800 vibrations-per-hour beat (4 Hz) and 31 jewels. The brand describes the Premier Automatic 40 as a COSC-certified chronometer. That is Breitling’s own wording. The sources do not give a tested rate, and no accuracy tolerance should be assumed beyond the certification claim.

A reserve of roughly 38 hours means a watch left off the wrist over a weekend may stop. Expect to reset the time after a couple of days in a drawer.
Wearing dimensions
- Diameter and thickness: 40 mm across and 11.36 mm thick, a conventional dress-watch profile.
- Crystal: cambered sapphire with glare protection on both sides, per Breitling.
- Lug width: 20 mm. This is the starting point for strap shopping, but it does not guarantee a fit. Curved-end designs, clasp types and attachment details all matter, so check them before buying a third-party strap or bracelet.
- Water resistance: rated 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft). That is a published rating. For guidance on swimming, showering or crown care, use the manual or Breitling’s service channels.
Premier Automatic 40 vs. Premier Automatic Day & Date 40
These are separate watches. Breitling’s Day & Date 40 (reference A45340211G1A1) adds a day-and-date calendar and uses Caliber 45 instead of Caliber 37. It is also listed at 40 mm in diameter and 11.41 mm thick, which is 0.05 mm thicker than the 11.36 mm of the standard model.
