What HMS Victory material does the watch contain?
Bremont says the case has a hand-engraved, copper PVD-treated inner barrel made from material from HMS Victory. The brand also describes original oak from the ship inlaid into the case back, beneath an integrated etched sapphire crystal. These are claims in Bremont’s product description; they do not independently establish the provenance or composition of the material.

What is the historical connection to HMS Victory?
Royal Museums Greenwich records that HMS Victory was launched on 7 May 1765. Designed by Sir Thomas Slade and built at Chatham Dockyard, the ship later served in the Royal Navy and is closely associated with the Battle of Trafalgar, where Admiral Nelson died. That history provides context for the watch’s name, but it is separate from Bremont’s claims about the ship material used in the modern case. Royal Museums Greenwich’s HMS Victory collection record.
Royal Museums Greenwich also holds a record for a historic watch associated with Midshipman J. Pollard and an inscription referring to Trafalgar. The museum says the inscription’s attribution is thought to be dubious, so the story should not be treated as verified provenance or as proof of a connection to Bremont’s watch.
