Designed with Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, it pairs a 40 mm aluminum case and black rubber details with a dial featuring a spun-finish motif, the numeral 2 and Sorayama’s logo.
What is the Bulgari Aluminium Sorayama Special Edition?
Reference 103703 is a collaboration between Bulgari and artist Hajime Sorayama, known for his sleek, metallic visual style. Bulgari Japan announced the watch in 2022 as a worldwide edition of 1,000 pieces. Its release notice gave 29 August 2022 as the planned Japan release date; that makes this a historical launch, not a new 2026 announcement.
The Japan announcement listed a launch price of ¥407,000 including tax. That figure was specific to Japan in 2022 and is not a current price or a quote for other markets. Hodinkee reported a separate US launch price of $3,300 in its coverage published 30 August 2022.
How Sorayama shaped the design
Sorayama said he proposed three design directions for the collaboration: a dial motif recalling the spun finish of the Spirit of St. Louis, the aircraft that inspired him as a child; using only the numeral 2 among the dial’s numeral indexes; and including his SORAYAMA logo. He described 2 as his lucky number. The Japanese release notice says he left the mechanical work to Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, identified there as Bulgari’s executive director of watch product creation.

The resulting dial uses circular swirls to evoke the aircraft’s finish, while the numeral 2 and artist’s logo make the collaboration legible without changing the Aluminium line’s basic case-and-rubber format. Bulgari’s official product page describes the aluminum case as DLC-coated.
