The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel (reference Master 5253420) brings three major complications together: a bi-axial, constant-force Gyrotourbillon; a minute repeater with a Westminster chime; and a perpetual calendar adjustable forwards and backwards. It is a hand-wound watch in a 43 mm white-gold case. The current Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique listing gives no public price, instead stating “Price on request.”
What makes this watch a grand complication?
Its three headline systems address different kinds of watchmaking complexity: the Gyrotourbillon regulates timekeeping, the minute repeater sounds the time, and the perpetual calendar tracks the date through the calendar cycle. Jaeger-LeCoultre identifies the movement as hand-wound Calibre 184. The Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) describes the Gyrotourbillon as bi-axial and constant-force, and the boutique categorizes the watch as having a spherical tourbillon.
Bi-axial, constant-force Gyrotourbillon
A tourbillon places the regulating components in a rotating carriage; this watch’s Gyrotourbillon uses two axes of rotation. FHH also identifies a constant-force mechanism, describing the combination as a “double guarantee of precision.” That is the institution’s description of the design, not a published accuracy result for an individual watch.
Westminster minute repeater
When activated, the minute repeater sounds the time using a melody based on the four-phrase Westminster chime associated with Big Ben. Hodinkee’s 2019 launch coverage describes four sets of hammers and gongs: the chime marks the quarters between the hour and minute indications, with the repeater communicating the time on demand.

Bidirectionally adjustable perpetual calendar
The perpetual calendar displays the leap year, year, date, day and month. FHH says the date can be adjusted forwards and backwards; Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 2019 video description also characterizes the calendar as adjustable in both directions. The feature concerns calendar setting and does not mean the watch automatically corrects itself without being set.
Calibre 184 and the watch’s specifications
The official boutique listing specifies 1,050 movement components, 126 jewels, two barrels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Other figures differ between published sources, so they should be read with their attribution rather than treated as settled specifications.

How many were made?
FHH specifies two dial editions: 18 watches with a silver-grained dial and 18 with a blue-enamel dial. Hodinkee’s 2019 launch article describes the watch as a limited edition of 18 pieces without specifying the two variants. The FHH entry therefore supports an 18-piece count for each listed dial version; it should not be conflated with Hodinkee’s differently worded launch-era figure.

What does the Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel cost?
The three available price references use different bases and dates. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s current boutique listing says “Price on request.” FHH gives an indicated price of CHF 900,000, while Hodinkee reported a launch price of €800,000 in 2019. These are not interchangeable quotes, and none establishes a current transaction price or confirms that a watch is available to buy.

Jaeger-LeCoultre says the broader Master Grande Tradition collection is designed, manufactured and assembled at its Vallée de Joux manufacture. The brand also describes “1,000 Hour Control” as internal collection-level testing that includes movement tests before and after casing.
