The Bulova Lunar Pilot Meteorite Limited Edition, reference 96A312, pairs a six-hand high-precision quartz chronograph with a dial Bulova identifies as genuine Muonionalusta meteorite. It is limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide. Its Apollo 15 connection belongs to the Lunar Pilot lineage—not to this modern meteorite model, which is not the watch Bulova says was worn on the Moon.
What is distinctive about the 96A312?
The standout feature is the dial: Bulova says each is cut from Muonionalusta meteorite, so the natural pattern varies from one example to another. The dial sits beneath a flat sapphire crystal, with luminous hands and markers and a black tachymeter ring. A photograph or product listing can show the design, but it cannot establish how a particular dial looks in person; the pattern on each piece differs.
Bulova describes Muonionalusta as a meteorite discovered in Northern Scandinavia in 1906 and says it is more than 4.5 billion years old. Its UK campaign page gives a more precise age of 4.5653 billion years and identifies the material’s crystalline pattern as Widmanstätten. These are Bulova’s descriptions of the material, not independent measurements of the dial in an individual watch. Bulova UK’s campaign page and its Canadian product listing identify the meteorite dial.
The edition is limited to 5,000 worldwide, according to Bulova. That cap describes the production limit; it does not confirm that the watch is currently available from Bulova or any particular retailer. The Canadian listing says the package includes a storybook, limited-edition card and certificate of authenticity.

How does its chronograph work?
Bulova Canada specifies a 262 kHz high-precision quartz movement and describes the chronograph hand as sweeping. The dial has six hands. Its counters are arranged as follows on the Canadian listing:
- 3 o’clock: 1/20-second chronograph counter.
- 6 o’clock: running seconds.
- 9 o’clock: 60-minute chronograph counter.
The tachymeter ring provides a scale for estimating speed over a known distance when used with the chronograph. The cited product information establishes the movement type and functions, but does not provide an independent accuracy test or a measured comparison with other chronographs. Bulova Canada’s 96A312 listing supplies the movement and counter details.

What are the dimensions, materials and water resistance?
Bulova Canada lists a case width of 43.5 mm and lug width of 20 mm. Those figures describe the case and strap interface, not how the watch will fit a particular wrist. Wrist shape, strap adjustment and personal preference all affect fit; the published dimensions alone cannot establish whether it will feel large or comfortable to you.
Regional Bulova pages describe the case differently, so the wording should be read by market rather than combined into one definitive construction claim:

The Ireland listing also specifies a sapphire crystal; Bulova Canada identifies the crystal as flat sapphire. Both regional listings describe a black leather strap with an easy-release system. The Canadian page gives the 43.5 mm case width and 20 mm lug width. Confirm the specifications for your market and the particular listing before purchase.
What does the Apollo 15 connection mean?
Bulova says a Bulova chronograph was worn on the Moon on August 2, 1971, during Apollo 15. That is heritage context for the Lunar Pilot line. The 96A312 is a modern limited edition and should not be described as the flown watch. Bulova presents the meteorite version as a contemporary design drawing on that history, not as an artifact from the mission. Its UK campaign page gives the brand’s account of the line’s connection to Apollo 15.

- Now, Bulova returns to the design and updates it with an exclusive high-precision quartz movement, continuing its legacy of precision timing with the men's Bulova Lunar Pilot chronograph from the Archive Series
- Under the flat sapphire crystal, the six-hand chronograph dial is rendered in a blue-and-silver panda design, with a blue tachymeter ring and retro Bulova name
Is the Bulova 96A312 worth considering?
The 96A312 is most compelling for someone who specifically wants the combination of a meteorite dial, Lunar Pilot heritage and a multi-counter quartz chronograph. The meteorite material and 5,000-piece limit distinguish it from a standard dial version, while its 43.5 mm case width is a meaningful consideration for fit. If fit is decisive, try the watch on rather than relying on the diameter alone; the published specifications do not substitute for an individual wrist check.
Bulova Ireland listed the watch at €1,399 when checked in 2026. That is a regional page price, not a universal or guaranteed current price; confirm local pricing and stock before deciding. The Irish product page is the source for that listed price and its regional specifications.
