Before buying, check the exact watch and its availability, get warranty coverage in writing, and calculate import charges for your destination. TWC’s published policy says international orders cannot be returned or exchanged after purchase, making those checks especially important.
What TWC Japan sells—and what it says about its service
TWC’s Japanese catalogue includes new and pre-owned watches across brands such as Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer, IWC, Patek Philippe, Tudor, Cartier, Hamilton and Grand Seiko. Its live catalogue has included pre-owned Rolex Explorer II 216570 listings, but stock and prices can change. TWC says shop and online inventory are shared, so an item may sell in person before an online order is fulfilled; confirm availability for the specific listing before payment. On its English site, TWC describes a Nakano Sun Mall shop, international online sales, insured shipping, listing photos of the actual watch and an authenticity guarantee. Its About Us page says products are inspected and sourced from locations worldwide, and that multilingual staff can help locate particular models. Is TWC Japan legitimate, and are its watches authentic?
TWC presents itself as a retailer with a physical shop and online store, and says it guarantees authenticity. That provides a clear point of contact, but it is not the same as an independent authentication of the watch you are considering. Treat authenticity as a question to verify for the exact item: ask what documentation and accessories are included, whether the pictured watch is the one that will ship, and what recourse applies if the delivered item is not as described.

TWC says its watches are parallel imports. A parallel import is sold outside the manufacturer’s authorized distribution channel for the destination market; it should not be assumed to carry the same manufacturer warranty or local support as a watch bought from an authorized retailer. Check the exact watch before ordering
- Match the listing to the reference. Confirm the model or reference number, new or pre-owned condition, stated price and listing photos. Ask whether those photos show the exact watch being shipped.
- Confirm what is included. Ask for a written list of included box, papers, warranty cards and other accessories. Do not infer completeness from photos unless the listing explicitly confirms it.
- Verify availability. Because TWC shares inventory between its shop and online store, request confirmation that the exact item is still available before checkout.
- Save the listing and correspondence. Keep the listing details, photos, condition description and written answers so you can compare the delivered watch with what you ordered.
Understand the warranty before paying
TWC’s policy lists a shop warranty of one year for new products and three months for second-hand products. TWC describes coverage as limited to technical fees during the warranty period, requires the actual manufacturer warranty card as well as its shop warranty card, and lists exclusions including misuse, external damage and unauthorized work. Do not assume that an international or manufacturer warranty will be honored where you live. The Japan Clock & Watch Association says warranty terms vary by product, manufacturer and retailer, and that warranty validity is generally limited to the country of purchase unless international coverage applies in designated countries. Its guidance says, “The international warranty is valid only in designated countries,” and recommends confirming those countries before purchase. Ask whether your country is covered and where service must be performed. Returns, delivery problems and import costs
Returns and incorrect or defective orders
TWC says international orders cannot be returned or exchanged after purchase. For an international order that is defective or incorrect, its policy asks buyers to contact the retailer within one day after delivery. Inspect the watch promptly on arrival, retain the packaging and order records, and contact TWC within that stated window if there is a problem. Import taxes and duties
TWC says listed prices do not include import taxes and that buyers are responsible for applicable taxes and duties. The amount depends on the destination and order; the available TWC policy does not calculate a landed cost for a particular country. Before paying, check your customs authority’s rules and ask TWC for current shipping terms and any charges it can confirm. Tax-free purchases in Japan
TWC’s tax-free page is aimed at foreign visitors to Japan and says Japanese nationals residing overseas are not eligible. Compare the total offer, not just the listed price
TWC’s English overview advertises discounts of 30–40% off retail for some Swiss watch brands, up to 50% off retail across its range, and an 8% tax-free price benefit. The page is undated and does not explain its comparison method; these are TWC’s broad promotional claims, not verified savings on a particular model. Check the exact reference, condition and current price against comparable listings, and account for warranty, return rights, shipping and import charges before deciding. For two listings of the same watch, compare the items on the same basis: exact reference and condition, included accessories, warranty issuer and geographic validity, return rights, total delivered cost, and access to seller or service support. A lower headline price may not be the better offer if the warranty is narrower or import charges change the final cost.
