The appeal is less about a single specification than the way case, dial, gems and bracelet spiral combine into a sculptural object. Here is what makes it distinctive—and how four listed references differ.
What makes the Serpenti Tubogas distinctive?
Bvlgari describes Serpenti Tubogas as joining the sinuosity of the snake with the contemporary character of Tubogas. The bracelet is tubular and flexible, and the brand’s 2015 watch catalog says the technique is produced without soldering. That construction and the coiling serpent form give the watch its defining jewelry-like presence; the effect varies with the number of bracelet spirals and the materials used. Bvlgari’s 103708 listing is one example of the collection’s current design language.
The name also carries a history, but its exact origin should not be overstated. Bvlgari’s heritage material depicts gold Serpenti Tubogas bracelet-watches from circa 1948–1949 and a white-gold, diamond-set example from circa 1972. The same material says Tubogas’s origins are “shrouded in mystery,” rather than establishing a definitive invention date or origin story.
Single spiral or double spiral: what changes?
The spiral count describes how many times the bracelet coils around the wrist. In the examples below, single-spiral models have one coil, while the UK-listed double-spiral reference has two. That visible difference is useful when comparing configurations, but the available listings do not establish a general difference in fit, comfort or performance.

These are not interchangeable specifications. For example, 103708 combines a plain rose-gold bezel with an opaline dial and a listed 30 m rating, while 102790 pairs a diamond-set bezel with a green lacquered dial and also lists 30 m. The UK example 102791 is double-spiral, but its tax-inclusive pound price cannot be compared directly with US prices that exclude tax. Bvlgari’s surfaced product examples use quartz movements; that does not establish the movement type of every historic or future Serpenti Tubogas.

Among these official listings, the US examples were $12,900 for 103708 and $17,650 each for 103822 and 102790, before taxes. The UK listing for double-spiral 102791 was £20,400 including taxes. Those figures describe particular references and regional listings accessed October 8, 2026—not a universal collection price or a promise of current availability. Confirm the exact reference, currency, tax treatment and live price with Bvlgari before making a purchase decision.

- Bracelet configuration: check whether the exact reference is single- or double-spiral.
- Materials and setting: distinguish steel and two-tone construction from precious-metal details, and note whether the bezel is diamond-set.
- Dial and color: the examples include white or silver opaline finishes and green lacquer, with different treatments and indexes.
- Listed size: the examples range from size S at 135 mm to size L at 145 mm; these are Bvlgari’s listed sizes for those references.
- Water resistance: rely only on the rating stated for the reference you are considering. The 103708 and 102790 listings say 30 m; the surfaced results for 103822 and 102791 do not state a rating.
- Price context: compare like currencies and tax treatments, and verify the live listing for your region.
Bvlgari’s official pages are the most direct place to confirm the details of the three US references and the UK reference linked above. Other retailer pages surfaced for Serpenti Tubogas include Mytheresa, Bucherer and Wempe; verify each page’s exact reference and current listing before comparing it with Bvlgari’s catalog.
