How the Tank à Guichets displays time
“À guichets” refers to the small windows, or apertures, through which the time is read. Cartier describes the mechanism as a jumping hour paired with a dragging-minute display: the hour changes in a discrete jump, while the minute indication advances through its separate opening. The result is a deliberately pared-back reading of hours and minutes rather than a standard dial with hands.
Cartier says the Tank à Guichets was first introduced in 1928 and connects its origins to Louis Cartier’s pursuit of simplicity. In Cartier’s account, the two openings take the place of the traditional dial. That is the brand’s design framing, not an independent assessment of the watch’s execution. Cartier’s description of the model and its history also quotes Pierre Rainero, the house’s Director of Image, Style and Heritage, describing the jumping-hour and dragging-minute display.
What is the 2025 platinum reference?
Cartier Brazil lists the platinum Tank à Guichets as reference WGTA0392. Its case and crown are 950/1000 platinum, and the listed buckle is platinum. The case measures 37.6 × 24.8 mm and is 6 mm thick. Cartier gives no water-resistance rating and explicitly states that the watch is not water-resistant.

Movement and display
The hand-wound mechanical 9755 MC movement drives the jumping hours and minutes. Cartier lists a movement diameter of 21.5 mm, a thickness of 4 mm, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 17 jewels and an approximately 42-hour power reserve. These are the specifications published on the Brazil product page, not independent performance measurements; Cartier does not provide an accuracy figure there.
Dial apertures and straps
The hour aperture is at 10 o’clock and the minute aperture at 4 o’clock. Cartier describes gold-finished hour discs with burgundy Arabic numerals and a black minute track. The listed black calfskin strap is accompanied by a second burgundy calfskin strap. Cartier Brazil’s WGTA0392 listing is the source for these details.

What is known about the other 2025 versions?
Time+Tide’s 2025 launch coverage describes regular yellow-gold and rose-gold variants alongside platinum, as well as a 200-piece asymmetric platinum edition. This is third-party launch reporting; the official product specification cited here establishes the Brazil-listed platinum WGTA0392, not the current availability or complete specifications of every version. Time+Tide’s launch video description provides that broader launch context.
For the officially listed WGTA0392, Cartier Brazil specifies a 200-piece individually numbered edition. The source does not establish that this edition size applies to other versions.

The Tank à Guichets belongs to the 2025 launch context; it is not one of the three models named for Cartier Privé’s 10th edition in 2026. Cartier’s current 10th-edition page lists the Tank Normale, Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph and Crash Skeleton. Cartier’s 10th-edition page establishes that later lineup.
