The next-generation TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph debuted in January 2025 as four 44 mm automatic chronographs, built around black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium, rubber straps and 200 m water resistance. The launch adds a vivid, color-accented look to the Formula 1 line, but the available material is manufacturer information—not a hands-on review—so it does not establish wrist comfort, real-world legibility or measured timekeeping.
What’s new in the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph?
TAG Heuer’s January 21, 2025 launch article introduces four references: CBZ2085.FT8093, CBZ2082.FT8096, CBZ2086.FT8098 and CBZ2084.FT8097. The shared headline formula is a 44 mm grade 2 titanium case with black DLC coating, an automatic chronograph movement, a rubber strap, black opalin dial and water resistance to 200 m. The release describes red, blue and lime accents across the group.
This is a defined four-watch launch, not a claim that every TAG Heuer Formula 1 model received the same update. The references distinguish themselves chiefly through their colored dial tracks and strap treatments; check the precise configuration against the reference-specific listing rather than assuming every component is identical.
How the design is meant to read
TAG Heuer’s January 2025 brochure explains the case profile as evocative of an F1 car’s nose and the bezel’s micro-perforations as a reference to brake discs. The brand frames the collection as “Grand Prix by night”: dark surfaces set against bright color accents, with lacquered dial tracks and strap colors varying by expression. These are the maker’s design intentions, not independent findings about how the watch looks or wears in person.
CBZ2086.FT8098: the published specifications
Of the original four, TAG Heuer provides a detailed specification listing for the yellow-accent CBZ2086.FT8098. Its official product page identifies it as an automatic Calibre 16 chronograph with a 48-hour power reserve.

|---|---|
| Case | 44 mm; 14.5 mm thick; 47.30 mm lug distance |
| Case material and finish | Sandblasted titanium, black DLC-coated; titanium caseback |
| Bezel | Fixed aluminum tachymeter bezel with black DLC coating |
| Movement | Automatic Calibre 16 chronograph; 48-hour power reserve |

These details come from the official CBZ2086.FT8098 product listing. They should not be extended automatically to the other colors: the launch article gives their shared headline features, while this reference page supplies the finer measurements and components for this one watch.

The original four and the later pink variant
TAG Heuer added a pink-accent model, CBZ2087.FT8107, in a separate article dated November 25, 2025. It is therefore a later addition, not part of the January launch quartet.

|---|---|
| CBZ2085.FT8093, CBZ2082.FT8096, CBZ2086.FT8098, CBZ2084.FT8097 | Named as the four January 2025 launch references; the launch describes red, blue and lime accents across the group. |
| CBZ2087.FT8107 | November 2025 pink-accent variant: 44 mm black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium, Calibre 16 automatic movement, black opalin dial with pink lacquered track, aluminum tachymeter bezel, treated sapphire crystal, 200 m water resistance and black rubber strap with pink accents. |
The later model’s details are from TAG Heuer’s November 25, 2025 announcement. Keeping its release date and reference separate avoids treating an evolving collection as one unchanged launch.

Where it sits in the Formula 1 line
TAG Heuer’s account of the collection says the Formula 1 line began in 1986, with chronograph models following in 1988. The brand also says it unveiled a Formula 1 Chronograph x Oracle Red Bull Racing in December 2024. Those dates provide the manufacturer’s motorsport-history context for the 2025 watches; they do not establish how the new references compare in performance with earlier models.
For a genuine hands-on assessment, key questions remain open: how the 44 mm case and stated 47.30 mm lug distance wear on different wrists, how clearly the dial reads in varied light, and how accurately the movement keeps time over use. Official product descriptions cannot answer those questions, so no comfort, legibility or accuracy verdict is justified here.
