What is the GST-S110D-1A?
It is a G-STEEL model in Casio’s G-Shock line, pairing two analog hands with a digital time-and-date display. Casio Singapore and Malaysia use the reference GST-S110D-1A; Casio Canada styles it GSTS110D-1A. The “D” model is the stainless-steel-bracelet version, distinct from the resin-band GST-S110-1A.
Casio lists a resin and stainless-steel case and bezel, a stainless-steel band, and a one-touch three-fold clasp. Casio describes the series’ “layer guard structure” as a two-layer bezel using different materials, including shock-absorbing resin beneath a stainless-steel upper part on applicable models. How big and heavy is it?
Casio Singapore and Malaysia list dimensions of 59.1 × 52.4 × 16.1 mm and a weight of 195 g for the GST-S110D-1A. Those figures make it substantial on paper, especially compared with a typical light resin-band watch. Whether it feels too large or heavy depends on wrist size, bracelet adjustment and personal preference; no hands-on fit assessment is available here.

The listed one-touch three-fold clasp identifies the clasp type, but does not establish how much adjustment it offers or how the bracelet should be resized. Check sizing and return options with the seller if fit is uncertain.
What does the steel bracelet change versus the resin GST-S110-1A?
For a direct comparison, Casio Singapore lists the same case dimensions and core solar, shock-resistance and water-resistance specifications for both references. The principal documented difference is the band material and listed mass:

Casio’s published figures make the steel version 87 g heavier by simple subtraction; that difference is calculated from the manufacturer-listed weights, not separately measured. Choose the D reference if a metal bracelet and its appearance are priorities. The resin reference is the clearer choice if lower listed weight matters more. Durability and solar power
Casio specifies shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance and Tough Solar power. These are manufacturer claims rather than results from independent shock, pressure, diving or battery testing. A rating also does not establish the current condition of a particular watch; age, damage and service history can matter.

Casio estimates approximately eight months of rechargeable-battery operation after a full charge under normal use without further light exposure. It lists approximately 19 months after a full charge when the watch is stored in total darkness with power saving enabled. Casio also lists accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. Display and everyday functions
The analog hands sit alongside a digital display for time and date. A hand-shift feature temporarily moves the hands out of the way so they do not obscure digital information. Casio’s Singapore listing specifies double LED illumination: one light for the face and a separate backlight for the digital display. It also lists full-auto lighting, Super Illuminator, white LEDs, afterglow and a selectable 1.5- or 3-second illumination duration. Neobrite is listed for the exterior. These specifications do not establish readability from every angle or how intuitive the controls feel.

Casio lists the following functions:
- World time for 31 time zones and 48 cities plus UTC, with daylight-saving on/off and home/world-city swapping.
- A 1/100-second stopwatch with elapsed, split, and first- and second-place timing.
- A countdown timer with a maximum setting of 100 minutes.
- Five daily alarms and an hourly time signal.
- Full auto-calendar through 2099, 12/24-hour format, button-tone mute, power saving and a battery-level indicator.
Are there smaller or lighter connected alternatives?
Casio’s Singapore comparison table lists separate G-STEEL models with Bluetooth mobile link and lower stated dimensions or weight. They are not interchangeable versions of the GST-S110D-1A, and the figures do not imply identical styling or functions.

Verdict: who should consider it?
The GST-S110D-1A suits buyers who want a substantial G-Shock with a steel bracelet, analog hands plus digital functions, and manufacturer-specified solar power and water resistance. Its dimensions and 195 g listed weight are central to the decision, not minor details. If a lighter watch is the priority, the resin GST-S110-1A is the closest like-for-like alternative in Casio’s listed specifications. If you need a connected model or a smaller listed case, Casio’s separate B-series options are worth comparing.
