What is the MRG-BF1000R-1A?
It is a titanium MR-G version of Casio’s G-SHOCK FROGMAN line, announced on March 15, 2023. The reference combines the recognizable case shape shifted slightly to the left with a titanium case and bezel and a Dura Soft fluoro rubber band. Casio describes the design as a metal interpretation of the asymmetric Frogman form. Casio’s 2023 announcement provides the launch context; the current US product page lists the model’s specifications.
A complex exterior, described in two ways
Casio’s March 15, 2023 announcement says the case comprised 76 components at that time, including waterproof sealing, buffers, and small parts. The current US product page describes an intricate exterior combination of over 70 components. These are Casio’s differently worded descriptions, tied to their respective dates and pages; the current page does not say that the exterior count is exactly 76.
How big is the MR-G Frogman?
Casio lists dimensions of 56 × 49.7 × 18.6 mm and a weight of 132 g. Those figures make the watch’s substantial case size and thickness important fit considerations, but measurements alone cannot establish how it will sit or feel on a particular wrist. Casio Europe also publishes the model’s specifications on its European product page.

Can you dive with the MRG-BF1000R?
Casio states that the watch has ISO 200-meter water resistance and presents FROGMAN as a diver’s-watch line. In its 2023 announcement, Casio says the case is shifted slightly leftward to help ensure unrestricted wrist movement underwater. This is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent assessment of the watch or a recommendation for a specific dive profile. Follow the watch’s operating guidance and applicable dive-equipment requirements when deciding whether it is suitable for your use.
What does the Frogman do?
Beyond timekeeping, Casio lists Tough Solar, radio-controlled timekeeping, Bluetooth smartphone linking, dive-time measurement and log functions, a tide graph, and LED illumination. The combination is aimed at a wearer who wants dive-related functions and connected features alongside the MR-G construction.

Charging and timekeeping
Tough Solar is the listed charging system. Radio-controlled timekeeping and Bluetooth smartphone linking are separate timekeeping and connectivity features; Casio’s product page lists both.
Dive logs and tide information
Casio’s 2023 announcement says paired-app users can review dive times and locations and access tide graphs for approximately 3,300 spots around the world. That location count is Casio’s approximate figure from the announcement, not a claim that every location or tide condition is covered.

How is the titanium MR-G Frogman different from a resin G-SHOCK?
The defining documented distinction is construction: this reference uses a titanium case and bezel, an elaborate multi-part exterior, and a Dura Soft fluoro rubber band. It keeps the asymmetric Frogman identity and adds the listed solar, radio, Bluetooth, and dive-oriented functions. The official material cited here does not establish a direct weight, durability, or performance comparison with a particular resin G-SHOCK, so the difference should not be reduced to an unsupported claim that one is more comfortable or tougher.

The specifications alone cannot settle whether its dimensions suit your wrist, whether its functions fit your needs, or whether its water-resistance claim meets your intended diving use.

Casio introduced a later related model, the MRG-BF1000RG, in an announcement dated April 22, 2025, which refers to the MRG-BF1000R as released in 2023. That establishes subsequent family context, not whether the exact MRG-BF1000R-1A is currently available or still in production. Check Casio or an authorized seller for current availability and region-specific details.
