What Casio has officially released
Casio’s US Luxe Black collection currently lists four watches: the metal-bezel GM2100LXB-1A and GM2100LXB-1A9, plus the resin-bezel GA2100LXB-1A and GA2100LXB-1A9. All retain the familiar 2100-series octagonal case, but use a fine-textured matte-black dial, redesigned slim hands and indices, and vapor-deposited detailing. The GA versions also use bio-based resin components.

Those official listings describe the collection as a refinement of the 2100 design: “Matte black finish highlights intricate detailing: Iconic style with dial redesigned for refinement.” They do not identify Bluetooth phone connectivity or Tough Solar charging for any of the four Luxe Black references. The GM-2100LXB watches use a conventional coin-cell battery in the confirmed configuration.
What the September 2026 leak claims
Notebookcheck reported on September 21, 2026, that Great G-Shock World had reported a third Luxe Black CasiOak before the end of the year. The report says the likely foundation is the GBM-2100 rather than the GM-2100. That distinction matters because GBM-2100 hardware is associated with Tough Solar charging and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.

This remains a leak, not a Casio announcement. Notebookcheck explicitly said, “Casio has not announced anything as of writing.” No Casio product page, press release or confirmed specification sheet establishes that the rumored watch exists, and no final reference number was given. “Before year-end” is a reported timing window, not a scheduled launch date.
Would solar and Bluetooth be new for the Luxe Black line?
Yes, for the confirmed Luxe Black references. The reported GBM-based design would change the power and connectivity setup rather than merely recolor the existing GM or GA models.

Tough Solar charging
Tough Solar uses natural or artificial light to replenish the watch instead of relying solely on periodic coin-cell replacement. The solar-equipped 2100 platform already exists in Casio’s GA-B2100 range, so the leak describes a plausible hardware path, not a feature demonstrated by the current Luxe Black watches. The report does not establish charging performance, reserve duration, module number or whether the rumored Luxe Black model would match every GA-B2100 specification.

Casio’s existing GA-B2100 page shows what Bluetooth-enabled 2100 watches can do through the CASIO WATCHES app: automatic time updates, a phone-finder function, and wireless control of alarms, the countdown timer and stopwatch. That page confirms the platform’s capability, but it is not confirmation that a Luxe Black edition will include it.

Bluetooth would therefore be more than a cosmetic upgrade. It could reduce manual time-setting, help locate a paired phone and make routine timer or alarm changes from the app. Buyers should wait for Casio’s own module and compatibility details before assuming those functions will appear unchanged.

The 37,400-yen GBM-2100A price is about 5,000 yen above the 32,450-yen GM-2100LXB price in Japan. The headline’s approximately $20 premium should be treated as an expected or reported increase, not an official U.S. MSRP. The leak does not establish whether that comparison is against the $260 metal-bezel watch, the $145 resin-bezel watch or another regional price, and currency conversions do not guarantee equivalent retail pricing.
Exact model number and release date
The exact confirmed Luxe Black model numbers are GM2100LXB-1A, GM2100LXB-1A9, GA2100LXB-1A and GA2100LXB-1A9. The rumored third watch has no confirmed model number. Calling it a “GBM-2100LXB” would go beyond the available evidence; GBM-2100 is the reported platform family, not an announced Luxe Black reference.

Likewise, there is no confirmed release day. Great G-Shock World’s report, as relayed by Notebookcheck on September 21, 2026, places the possible launch before the end of 2026. Until Casio publishes a listing or announcement, regional availability and the U.S. release schedule remain unknown.

Choose a confirmed Luxe Black now if the finish is the priority
