The Casio Oceanus Manta OCW-S6000 pairs a slim titanium case and bracelet with a faceted sapphire crystal bezel, while adding solar charging, radio timekeeping and Bluetooth phone link. Casio lists the original OCW-S6000-1AJF at 47.1 × 42.5 × 8.7 mm and 86 g. Those figures apply to that original variant—not every watch in the S6000 family.
What distinguishes the OCW-S6000?
The defining contrast is between the watch’s restrained proportions and its decorative bezel. Casio describes a titanium case and metal titanium band, with a sapphire glass bezel ring cut into facets that catch and reflect light. The dial crystal is also sapphire, with a double-sided non-reflective coating. That combination gives the watch a more jewelry-like visual focal point than a plain brushed-metal bezel, while keeping the case profile thin on paper.
Casio’s US product page characterizes the design around “the beauty of appearance and comfortable fit”; that is manufacturer language, not an independent fit assessment. The specifications support the light-and-slim part of the proposition, but actual comfort and how the faceted surface looks in person depend on wrist size, fit and lighting.
Original OCW-S6000 specifications
| Specification | Original OCW-S6000-1AJF |
|---|---|
| Case dimensions | 47.1 × 42.5 × 8.7 mm (Casio Japan, 2021) |
| Weight | 86 g (Casio Japan, 2021) |
| Case and bracelet | Titanium case; titanium metal band (Casio) |
| Bezel and crystal | Sapphire crystal bezel ring; sapphire crystal with double-sided non-reflective coating (Casio) |
| Water resistance | 10 bar, as rated by Casio Japan (2021) |
| Power and timekeeping | Tough Solar; Multi-Band 6 radio reception; Bluetooth mobile link (Casio) |
The 47.1 mm measurement is the case’s longer dimension, while the listed width is 42.5 mm. The 8.7 mm thickness and 86 g weight are useful points of comparison when evaluating a watch that combines a metal bracelet and substantial sapphire detailing, but they are Casio’s published specifications rather than independent measurements.

What do its timekeeping features do?
Solar charging and radio correction
Tough Solar converts light into power. Multi-Band 6 can receive standard time-calibration signals transmitted in Japan (JJY), the United States (WWVB), the United Kingdom (MSF), Germany (DCF77) and China (BPC). Casio says the watch can automatically receive a signal up to six times a day, or up to five times a day in China. Reception depends on being within signal coverage and on conditions that allow the watch to receive the broadcast.
Casio’s 2021 specification gives approximately five months of operation from a full charge without further solar generation when the watch’s functions are in use, or approximately 18 months in power-saving mode. These are manufacturer estimates under the stated conditions, not independently measured runtimes.

Bluetooth and the CASIO WATCHES app
When paired with the CASIO WATCHES app, the watch supports automatic time correction and one-touch time correction, as well as world-time setting. Casio’s 2021 release says the app can set world time from approximately 300 cities. It gives a Bluetooth communication distance of up to approximately 2 m, subject to environmental conditions; that is a stated maximum, not a guaranteed connection distance in every setting.
Other listed functions
- World time for 27 cities and 38 time zones, plus UTC.
- Automatic daylight-saving setting.
- 24-hour stopwatch.
- Date and day display.
- Hand-position correction and a battery indicator.
How should you interpret its water-resistance rating?
Casio Japan lists the original model at 10 bar water resistance. That is the manufacturer’s rating; it does not, by itself, establish whether a particular activity is suitable. Check Casio’s guidance for the exact model and the condition of the specific watch before relying on it around water.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who is the OCW-S6000 for?
On the published specifications, the original S6000 is a plausible fit for someone seeking a premium-looking titanium bracelet watch with a thin profile and automated timekeeping features. The sapphire bezel is central to its identity, while solar charging, radio reception and app-based correction serve practical timekeeping needs. Its appeal is less clear if you prefer a visually plain bezel or want a current-price recommendation: the documented prices are historical, and the evidence here does not establish current stock or hands-on wear impressions.
