Its sensor set and glove-friendly controls are appealing on paper, but the 57.3 × 50.9 × 15.3 mm case is substantial. It is best considered by buyers who want built-in environmental readings and can accept a large watch—not by anyone expecting GPS or smartwatch connectivity.
What the PAG-240-1 offers
Casio’s official specifications describe a Tough Solar watch with a double-layer LCD, a rotating directional register ring, and a triple sensor for direction, pressure/altitude, and temperature. The direction, pressure/altitude, and temperature buttons are separate and sized for operation with gloves, according to Casio. The case and band are resin, with mineral glass and a directional bezel.
- Power: Tough Solar charging.
- Display and controls: double-layer LCD, directional ring, and separate sensor buttons.
- Sensors: digital compass, barometer, altimeter, and thermometer.
- Not listed: GPS and smartwatch connectivity do not appear in Casio’s reviewed feature list.
Casio’s official PAG-240-1 specifications are the source for the features and measurements below.
How the sensors work—and where to be cautious
Altimeter
The altimeter covers -700 to 10,000 m (-2,300 to 32,800 ft) in 5 m (20 ft) units. Casio lists up to 25 manual records containing altitude, date, and time, plus high/low altitude memory, total ascent and descent memory, a reference-altitude setting, an altitude tendency graph, and altitude differential.

- 100M Water Resistance | Rotating Bezel | Super Illuminator w/ Full Auto LED/LCD Screen
- Measuring range: -700 to 10,000 m (-2,300 to 32,800 ft.)
This is a pressure-based altitude estimate, not a GPS measurement. Because atmospheric pressure changes with weather as well as elevation, readings can drift; setting a known reference altitude is important when you need meaningful field readings. Casio’s indexed Operation Guide 3246 describes altitude as derived from air pressure. The indexed guide information also says sensor functions may be disabled if battery voltage is insufficient.
Barometer and compass
The barometer displays 260–1,100 hPa (7.65–32.45 inHg) in 1 hPa (0.05 inHg) units, with pressure-tendency and differential graphics. The digital compass indicates one of 16 directions across 0–359° in 1° units. Casio lists 20 seconds of continuous measurement, calibration functions, magnetic-declination correction, and bearing memory.

- Case / Bezel Material: Resin / Stainless Steel
- Silicon Band / Mineral Glass / NeoBrite
- Screw Lock Crown / 100 M Water Resistance
- Case Diameter: 51.5mm
- Water resistant to 100m (330ft): in general, suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not diving
Thermometer
The thermometer’s stated display range is -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F), in 0.1°C (0.2°F) units. The product specifications establish the range and resolution, but not the conditions under which a reading should be interpreted as ambient air temperature.
Timekeeping, display, and solar runtime
Beyond the sensors, Casio lists world time across 31 time zones and 48 cities; sunrise and sunset for a selected date; a 1/100-second stopwatch; a countdown timer of up to 24 hours; five daily alarms; an hourly signal; and a full auto calendar through 2099. The EL backlight has automatic activation, selectable duration, and afterglow. A battery-level indicator and power-saving function are also included. Casio states timekeeping accuracy of ±15 seconds per month.

- Storage Battery: Solar Rechargeable Battery, Battery Level Indicator
- Power Saving Function, Approx. Battery Life: 9 months on full charge (without further exposure to light), Module 3415
Casio estimates approximately six months of operation after a full charge under normal use without further light, or approximately 23 months after a full charge when stored in total darkness with power saving on. These are manufacturer estimates; the product page does not state a publication year for them, and they depend on the stated use and storage conditions.
Size, water resistance, and cold rating
Casio lists dimensions of 57.3 × 50.9 × 15.3 mm and a weight of 66 g. Those dimensions make it a large, fairly thick digital watch by ordinary standards, so wrist fit and clearance under sleeves deserve consideration before buying. The case and band are resin.

It makes the strongest case for itself if you want a self-contained outdoor digital watch with solar charging, dedicated sensor controls, and compass, pressure, altitude, and temperature functions without needing a connected phone. Its main trade-offs are the large case and the limits of pressure-derived altitude readings. The listed functions are instruments and timekeeping tools; the official feature list does not establish navigation by GPS or connected smart features.

Price and availability
Casio Mexico’s official page displayed MX$6,999 when accessed. That is a regional price, not a global or current US price. Right Time’s PAG240-1 listing identified the model and its specifications but reported that the retailer’s item was out of stock when checked. That status does not establish that the watch is discontinued or unavailable elsewhere. Current listings, condition, seller, warranty, and pricing should be verified directly before purchase.
