The Casio PRO TREK PRG-69 series brings a new angular case design to Casio’s digital PRO TREK line, alongside a larger Duplex LCD compass display and the line’s Triple Sensor and Tough Solar features. The lineup comprises three models: PRG-69-1, PRG-69-4 and PRG-69B-1. Their clearest practical difference is the band: the first two use bio-based resin, while the 69B-1 has cloth made with recycled plastic.
What is new about the PRG-69?
Casio describes the PRG-69 as the first digital PRO TREK series to use an angular case design. The case has slanted, knurled surfaces, side buttons and a front button shaped to offer grip, including when worn with gloves. The redesign is paired with a Duplex LCD that gives the compass a larger display area. Casio’s PRG-69 series page presents the angular case and enlarged compass as central features of the range.
The front button also provides quick access to the Triple Sensor measurements. A press can start compass-bearing, altitude or barometric-pressure, and temperature readings, according to Casio. That layout makes the watch’s outdoor instruments more directly accessible than burying them among secondary timekeeping functions.
How the Duplex LCD compass and Triple Sensor work
The Duplex LCD is a dual-layer display. Casio says its larger compass area uses color graphics to indicate the cardinal directions and track movement. The compass supports continuous measurement for 60 seconds. This is a manufacturer-stated function, not an independent assessment of accuracy.

#1 Best Overall
- Case / Bezel Material: Resin / Stainless Steel
- Silicon Band / Mineral Glass / NeoBrite
- Screw Lock Crown / 100 M Water Resistance
- Case Diameter: 51.5mm
- Water resistant to 100m (330ft): in general, suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not diving
The Triple Sensor covers three kinds of outdoor readings:
- Compass: bearing from 0 to 359 degrees, with up to 60 seconds of continuous measurement.
- Altimeter and barometer: Casio lists an altimeter range of −700 to 10,000 m and a barometer display range of 260 to 1,100 hPa.
- Thermometer: the listed display range is −10°C to 60°C.
Those ranges come from Casio’s PRG-69B-1 specification page; they describe the display ranges specified by the manufacturer, not independently verified measurement performance. Readings from wrist-worn altimeters and thermometers can also be affected by conditions and how the watch is used, so treat them as field instruments rather than substitutes for dedicated navigation or safety equipment.

Other features and outdoor specifications
Casio lists Tough Solar charging, 10 bar (100-meter) water resistance and low-temperature resistance to −10°C for the series. Additional functions include sunrise and sunset display, world time for 48 cities, a 1/10-second stopwatch, countdown timer, five daily alarms and a full-auto LED backlight. Consult the local model page for the exact specification of the watch sold in your market.
The center case uses flame-retardant resin made with bio-based resin, which Casio identifies as UL94 V-0 grade. Casio says this material self-extinguishes after the ignition source is removed. That is a material specification, not a claim that the watch is fireproof or suitable for exposure to flames.

PRG-69 variants: bands and listed weights
Casio lists three models in the range. The established differences are the band material and, for two models with published specifications, the listed weight.
| Model | Band | Listed weight |
|---|---|---|
| PRG-69-1 | Soft bio-based resin | 58 g, per Casio’s PRG-69-1 specification |
| PRG-69-4 | Soft bio-based resin | Not stated in the cited official model specifications |
| PRG-69B-1 | Cloth made with recycled plastic bottles (recycled PET) | 60 g, per Casio Philippines’ PRG-69B-1 specification |
The PRG-69-1 and PRG-69B-1 specifications list the same dimensions: 52.5 × 46.4 × 14.4 mm. The PRG-69-1 listing identifies a stainless-steel bezel and bio-based resin case and band; the 69B-1 is differentiated by its recycled-plastic cloth band. Casio’s series page shows black and orange as the standard-band color options, but the source material does not establish a complete color or regional-stock comparison across all markets.

The series is aimed at outdoor users who want compass, altitude/barometric-pressure and temperature functions in a solar-powered digital watch, with a display and button layout designed to make the compass easier to read and access. The main choice among the listed variants is the band: choose a bio-based resin band on the PRG-69-1 or PRG-69-4, or the recycled-plastic cloth band on the PRG-69B-1. Casio presents the core Duplex LCD, Triple Sensor and Tough Solar features as shared across the series; check the precise local-model specification before buying.
