Two different takes on the full-metal 2100 design
The models share the angular 2100-series design language, but serve different visual roles. The GM-B2100SD-1A is the more restrained silver full-metal option. The GMC-B2100ZE-1A is the anniversary-styled alternative, with the launch report describing black and gold detailing.

Casio Japan’s product page covers the GM-B2100SD-1AJF, the Japan-market reference for the GM-B2100SD-1A. It describes a full-metal analog 2100 Series watch developed from the design concept of the original G-SHOCK DW-5000C. The Japan page lists an October 2024 release and a tax-inclusive suggested retail price of ¥84,700; that is a Japan-market list price, not a worldwide or current street price.

GMC-B2100ZE-1A: what makes it the anniversary edition
Casio US’s product page identifies the GMC-B2100ZE-1A and says its case-back design commemorates the Casio Watch 50th Anniversary. The page’s image captions also identify special packaging. The Gizmochina launch report describes a black ion-plated stainless-steel bezel, gold accents and a gold ion-plated link in the steel band. Those finish details are report-derived; the accessible Casio US page does not provide a full written specification set.
The anniversary case back is the confirmed distinction that gives this reference its special-edition identity. The available product information does not establish that all functions or specifications are identical to those of the GM-B2100SD-1A.

What was—and was not—known about price and availability
In its October 9, 2024 report, Gizmochina said the GM-B2100SD-1A’s Japan price was being presented in a pre-order context and that global availability and pricing had not then been confirmed. It also mentioned an early rumored US retail price of around $930 for the GMC-B2100ZE-1A, while noting that official release timing and pricing outside Japan were unconfirmed. The approximately $930 figure was a rumor, not an official Casio price.
Those launch-era caveats do not establish present-day availability. The official regional pages confirm the model references, but the cited information does not verify current local stock or a current price for either watch. Check Casio or a regional retailer for the relevant market and exact reference before buying.
