How the VK64 mecaquartz works
Mecaquartz combines quartz timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module. For the GR, that means the everyday hour-and-minute timekeeping is quartz-based, while the chronograph seconds and minutes are mechanical functions. It is not a fully mechanical or automatic watch. Charlie Paris lists a date and 24-hour counter alongside the chronograph. For a buyer, the distinction is practical: this is a chronograph-led watch with quartz timekeeping, rather than an automatic movement with a chronograph.
Case fit, strap choices, and water resistance
Dimensions and crystal
The 39 mm diameter and 45 mm case length give useful fit information beyond diameter alone; the stated 10.9 mm thickness excludes the domed crystal. The case is 316L steel with polished and brushed surfaces, and the official page specifies domed anti-reflective sapphire. Wrist comfort still depends on wrist shape and preference, so these dimensions are more useful as a starting point than a guarantee of fit.

Charlie Paris lists nylon, steel, and leather options in 20 mm width and says its straps are interchangeable without tools. That claim applies to the manufacturer’s strap system. Before buying a third-party 20 mm strap, confirm that its attachment design is compatible; width alone does not ensure a fit.
Water rating
The 10 ATM / 100 m rating is the manufacturer’s specification, not a result of the cited hands-on review. The available coverage does not establish independent water-resistance testing, so treat the figure as a stated rating rather than a separately verified test result.

Price, warranty, and what to verify
The official page snapshot listed the brown nylon configuration at €375. Automotiv Press’s 5 March 2025 review listed the green model at €375 with leather or nylon and €425 with steel. These are different configurations and dates, not a like-for-like current price comparison; check the exact color and strap option on the seller’s page before buying. Is the Charlie Paris GR the right kind of chronograph?
The GR is a plausible fit for someone who wants a legible, field-watch-style chronograph in a relatively compact stated case size, values sapphire crystal and interchangeable strap options, and is comfortable with quartz timekeeping. The green-version reviewer’s favorable comments on finish and daily wear provide useful firsthand context, but they do not establish how the brown dial looks or wears.
- Consider it if: the 39 mm diameter and 45 mm length suit your wrist, you want a chronograph without requiring a fully mechanical movement, and the selected color and strap configuration meet your preferences.
- Look elsewhere if: an automatic movement is essential; the independent reviewer specifically identified the absence of an automatic alternative as a possible disappointment.
- Before ordering: confirm the exact color, included strap or bracelet, current price, warranty terms, and—if changing straps—the attachment compatibility.
