What is the C65 Super Compressor Elite?
The C65 Super Compressor Elite is a Christopher Ward dive watch launched in July 2024. Fratello’s launch introduction presented it as a particularly colorful successor in the C65 Super Compressor line, with vivid dial styling and a decompression scale. The official technical document lists an internal unidirectional diving bezel, a compression timer scale, a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a display caseback. How does the Super Compressor mechanism work?
Fratello explains the principle this way: as a diver descends and water pressure rises, pressure compresses the case back, increasing the force on the seal. That is the Super Compressor concept described in the launch coverage, not a claim that every watch using the name has identical construction. Christopher Ward’s technical document identifies a functioning Super Compressor spring and mechanism in the Elite.
Fratello’s launch article traces the historical concept to Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA) and says Christopher Ward’s designers and technical director reverse-engineered the classic case for an earlier model in the line. Those historical details are Fratello’s account.
Is it a real dive watch?
The manufacturer specifies 150 m / 15 ATM water resistance and describes the watch as having a functioning Super Compressor mechanism, an internal unidirectional diving bezel, and Super-LumiNova Grade X1 GL C1 on the hands and indexes. These are meaningful dive-watch specifications, but a rating does not establish the condition of a specific pre-owned or unserviced watch. Anyone planning to dive with an individual example should have its water resistance checked and confirm its service condition.

What does the hands-on coverage say about wearing it?
Fratello’s hands-on reviewer called the watch bright and lively, and described its 41 mm diameter, 13.75 mm thickness, and 47.12 mm lug-to-lug as moderate or decent dimensions. Those are the reviewer’s impressions, not a universal fit guarantee. The article also discusses the colorful rubber strap; Fratello’s launch coverage identifies light-blue Aquaflex and blue-and-orange Tropic-style rubber options, as well as a three-row Bader steel bracelet.
What straps fit the C65 Super Compressor Elite?
The official specification gives the watch a 22 mm strap width. That is the nominal width to use when beginning an accessory search, but it does not confirm that every 22 mm aftermarket strap will attach or wear correctly. Check the lug attachment, strap length, and specific model compatibility before buying. Fratello reported the launch-era strap and bracelet configurations; those reports do not establish what is currently in stock.

Fratello reported launch prices in July 2024 of €1,795 with the Tropic-style strap, €1,805 with the Aquaflex strap, and €1,960 with the Bader bracelet. These are historical launch figures, not verified current prices.
