The Christopher Ward The Twelve 660 and Nivada Grenchen F77 share an integrated-bracelet sports-watch look, but make very different practical choices. The Twelve 660 is exceptionally thin and hand-wound; the F77 is an automatic with a higher stated water-resistance rating. The better fit depends on which of those trade-offs matters more to you.

Which wears smaller?
The diameter figures alone make the F77 look slightly smaller: it is 37 mm across, compared with 38 mm for the Twelve 660. But diameter does not tell the whole fit story. The Twelve 660 is just 6.6 mm thick, while the F77 is 12.6 mm thick; the F77, in turn, has a slightly shorter 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement than the Twelve’s 43.3 mm? No: the Twelve’s 43.3 mm is shorter. Thus the Twelve is both thinner and shorter lug-to-lug, while the F77 is one millimeter narrower in diameter.
These measurements are useful for screening, not a guarantee of fit. Wrist shape, bracelet articulation, clasp position and how a watch sits on your wrist all affect comfort. If possible, try each on—or compare how the case and bracelet fit against a watch you already wear.

Hand-wound or automatic?
The Twelve 660: manual winding
The Twelve 660 uses a hand-wound Sellita SW210-1 b. You wind it by hand rather than relying on wrist movement to wind an automatic rotor. Christopher Ward gives its power reserve as 42–45 hours, so it will need winding again after that reserve runs down.
The F77: automatic winding
The F77’s Soprod P024 is automatic and has a stated 38-hour power reserve. Its winding system uses wrist movement while worn; it can also be wound by hand. Neither winding type is inherently better: choose the deliberate routine of manual winding or the convenience of an automatic winding system.

Water resistance: the F77 has the higher rating
Christopher Ward rates the Twelve 660 at 3 ATM (30 m), while Nivada Grenchen rates the F77 at 10 ATM. The F77 therefore has the stronger stated water-resistance specification. The Twelve 660’s integrated-bracelet styling should not be taken as evidence that it is a conventional water-ready sports watch.
These are manufacturer specifications, not guarantees for every water activity or every individual watch. The cited specifications do not establish how warranty coverage applies to water damage, or the condition and service history of a particular used example.

Design and heritage
The Twelve 660: a slim take on The Twelve
The Twelve 660 belongs to Christopher Ward’s Twelve line but is a distinctly slim, pared-back version. Its 6.6 mm case height and hand-wound movement make thinness part of the wearing proposition, rather than simply another specification.
The F77: a manufacturer-described 1977 reissue

What do they cost?
Current pricing and stock are not established by the available price reports. Fratello’s September 7, 2025 comparison reported €1,805 for a bracelet-equipped Twelve 660 and a starting price of about €1,420 for a standard steel F77. Those are dated reported figures, not current offers; variant, region, taxes, currency changes and availability can affect what a buyer sees. Fratello’s comparison provides that historical context.
Europa Star reported launch-era Twelve 660 prices on August 28, 2025: £1,250 / $1,495 / €1,625 on rubber, and £1,395 / $1,660 / €1,805 on bracelet. These are launch prices, not confirmation of current regional pricing. Europa Star’s launch coverage has the original figures. Check each brand’s regional listing for current price, configuration and stock before buying.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Twelve 660 if a very thin case, shorter lug-to-lug measurement and hand-wound movement are central to what you want.
- Consider the F77 if you prefer an automatic, want the higher stated water-resistance rating, or are drawn to its manufacturer-described 1977 design lineage.
- Try both if fit is decisive. Their case dimensions differ in more than diameter, and the bracelet’s feel and fit cannot be settled by the specification sheet alone.
There is no universal winner in these specifications. They are distinct interpretations of the integrated-bracelet format, and the meaningful choice is whether the Twelve 660’s slim, manual-winding character or the F77’s automatic movement and higher stated water resistance suits your priorities.
