Citizen Premier is best understood as a modern-luxury category for selected Series8 and Attesa watches—not as one watch family with a single movement or design. Its reported 2025 launch paired a mechanical Series8 model with GPS-equipped, light-powered Attesa watches, giving buyers two very different ways to judge the luxury claim: traditional mechanical watchmaking or advanced travel-focused technology.
What is Citizen Premier?
Citizen introduced Premier in 2025 as an umbrella category that brings together models from its established Series8 and Attesa lines. Forbes described the move as uniting those lines under a new category; the launch coverage likewise presented Premier as a portfolio and positioning decision, not a new movement designation. The word “collection” is therefore useful shorthand, but it does not mean every Premier watch shares a common case, movement, or design.
Citizen Watch America president Jeffrey Cohen described the category as “the culmination of that journey — melding our heritage with modern innovation to offer a truly refined luxury experience,” in a statement quoted by Forbes on March 17, 2025. That is Citizen’s positioning. Whether the watches merit the luxury label is better assessed through their materials, mechanics, functions, and reported launch prices.
Which watches were named at launch?
Launch coverage named three references: the mechanical Series8 831 NB6051-59L and the Attesa CC4104-53E and CC4105-69E. The specifications and prices below are those reported by Time+Tide on November 3, 2025; they are not verified October 2026 prices or availability.

How do Series8 and Attesa differ?
Series8 831: the mechanical option
The NB6051-59L follows a familiar mechanical-watch proposition: an automatic movement, date display, and stainless-steel construction. At a reported 40 mm across and 11.6 mm thick, it is the smaller of the two launch offerings. Its 42-hour reserve and 100 m water resistance are specifications reported for this reference, not results from independent testing.
Attesa: a titanium GPS travel watch
The two Attesa references put technology and travel functions at the center of the offer. Their Eco-Drive Cal. F950 movement is powered by light, while Satellite Wave GPS synchronization is intended to keep time aligned through satellite signals. The launch report also lists a chronograph, alarm, home-time function, and a five-year reserve on a full charge. Super Titanium, Duratect coating, and ceramic bezels distinguish their materials from the Series8 steel case.

- Men's luxury timepieces with technical advancements and a sporty style
- 1/5 Second Chronograph Measures up to 60 Minutes, 12/24 Hour Time, Date
- Silver-Tone Stainless Steel
- Spherical Mineral Crystal
- 100 Meters Water Resistant and 5 Year Limited Warranty
The trade-off is visible in the reported dimensions: the Attesa watches measure 44 mm in diameter and 13.7 mm thick, compared with 40 mm and 11.6 mm for the Series8. A buyer choosing between them is not simply picking a more or less luxurious version of the same watch; the movements, functions, materials, and wrist presence differ substantially.
What makes Premier qualify as luxury?
Citizen’s case rests on a combination rather than a single luxury hallmark. The Series8 offers a mechanical automatic movement and sapphire crystal, while Attesa adds lightweight titanium construction, ceramic, surface treatment, GPS time synchronization, and multiple travel-oriented functions. The reported launch prices—US$1,095 for the Series8 and US$1,995 for Attesa—also place the watches above many entry-level Citizen offerings, though price alone cannot establish quality or status.

- Timeless styling that effortlessly takes you from work to play.
- 3 Hand, Date
- Two-Tone Stainless Steel
- Luminous Hands and Mineral Crystal
- 100 Meters Water Resistant and 5 Year Limited Warranty
These are specification-based distinctions, not a universal definition of luxury or a hands-on assessment. Readers who value mechanical movements may find the Series8’s proposition more compelling; those who prioritize time-zone convenience and light-powered operation may prefer Attesa. The category gives Citizen a way to present both approaches under one modern-luxury label.

The cited launch article said the references were available when it was published in November 2025. That does not confirm current stock or pricing. Citizen’s current U.S. product page surfaced for a different Premier-branded watch, AQ5010-01A—not the three launch references. The separate AQ5010-01A listing identifies an Eco-Drive One with Cal. 8845 and a 36.6 mm case width, so it should not be treated as evidence that the inaugural Series8 or Attesa models remain listed.

Before buying, confirm the exact reference, current price, seller, and model-specific warranty terms. Citizen’s U.S. store terms note that assortment and pricing can differ between its official store and retail, department, or specialty channels; general store terms should not be assumed to govern every model or seller. The official Citizen U.S. store locator and store terms provide a starting point for checking channels, but a specific purchase listing should be reviewed directly.
