CORUM stands out for distinctive collections such as Admiral and Golden Bridge, but reliability and resale claims require reference-specific evidence. Here’s what buyers should check.

CORUM is a Swiss watchmaker best known for distinctive designs, including its nautical Admiral line and the mechanically unusual Golden Bridge. Its official site currently foregrounds Admiral, Golden Bridge and Heritage, while its press-room overview also names Bubble and LAB. That gives the brand a clear design identity, but it does not by itself establish how reliable a watch is, what it will cost to service, or how well it will hold value. Those questions need evidence for the specific reference.

What is CORUM known for?

CORUM’s identity is built around designs that are easy to distinguish from conventional round dress watches. The current official site highlights three collections: Admiral, Golden Bridge and Heritage. CORUM’s press-room collection overview also identifies Bubble and LAB as collection pillars. Those names describe a broader catalog, not interchangeable watches: their design, movement, dimensions and intended use can differ substantially.

Admiral

Admiral is the brand’s nautical-themed collection and includes the current 36 mm and 39 mm lines. CORUM’s 2026 homepage says those models use in-house CO232 and CO231 movements, respectively. The collection’s visual language and the exact model’s case, dial and materials are important parts of its appeal; check the specifications for the particular reference rather than assuming every Admiral shares the same configuration.

Golden Bridge, Heritage, Bubble and LAB

Golden Bridge is another of the collections foregrounded on CORUM’s current site, alongside Heritage. Bubble and LAB appear in the press-room overview. The available collection-level information does not provide a current, reference-by-reference comparison of their prices, dimensions or technical features. Treat these as different design and product propositions, and evaluate a specific watch on its own details.

Who founded CORUM, and what has changed?

CORUM says René Bannwart and his uncle Gaston Ries founded the company in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1955. According to the brand’s history, Bannwart adapted the spelling of “quorum” to create the CORUM name. CORUM’s official history provides the company’s account.

In 2025, CORUM announced a management buyout led by Sales Director Haso Mehmedovic and backed by Swiss investors. The brand says the transaction was finalized on May 5, 2025, and Mehmedovic became Chairman and CEO. CORUM’s brand page says he began at the company as a watchmaker in 2011; these are the company’s published statements, not independent evidence about future product quality or performance. See CORUM’s press room and brand page.

What do the current Admiral specifications tell you?

For its 2026 Admiral 36 mm and 39 mm collections, CORUM identifies the CO232 and CO231 as in-house movements. The manufacturer states that both run at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and provide a 72-hour power reserve. CORUM lists 167 parts for the skeletonized CO232 and 210 parts for the CO231. These are published specifications, not independently measured results. The official CORUM homepage is the source for the current collection information.

A movement specification is useful for comparing references, but it cannot answer every ownership question. It does not establish real-world accuracy, long-term reliability, service intervals or repair costs. For those, seek model-specific service documentation and independent owner or watchmaker evidence.

Are CORUM watches good, and are they worth buying?

Whether a CORUM is a good buy depends on what matters to you. If you value an individual design and are drawn to the specific watch’s form, movement and finishing, the brand’s distinctive collections may make it worth considering. If your decision depends mainly on proven long-term reliability, low maintenance cost or strong resale performance, the official brand material cited here is not enough to support a confident brand-wide verdict.

There is no current, reference-specific price list established here, and the available official pages do not provide systematic reliability, service-cost, owner-satisfaction or resale data. CORUM’s press-room collection overview gives a broad historical/general range of CHF 2,000 to over CHF 1 million; it is not a current price for any particular model. Do not use it as a substitute for a live quote on the reference you are considering. The overview is at CORUM’s collection page.

How to evaluate a CORUM before buying

Compare the exact reference you want, not just the collection name. A contemporary Admiral and a historic or highly complicated CORUM watch can represent very different price, movement and ownership propositions.

  1. Identify the reference. Confirm the model and reference number, then use the manufacturer’s listing or documentation to verify the collection, dimensions, materials, movement and functions.
  2. Check fit and use. Compare the stated case size and materials with your wrist and wearing needs. Collection names alone do not tell you how a particular watch will wear.
  3. Verify movement claims. Note the published calibre, complications and power reserve. Keep manufacturer specifications separate from independent timing tests or long-term reports.
  4. Compare the complete purchase terms. Check the seller, currency, condition, included documentation, warranty coverage and return policy. For a pre-owned watch, ask for service records and confirm that the reference and condition match the listing.
  5. Investigate ownership support. Ask an authorized service contact about maintenance requirements, service availability and likely costs for the specific watch. Look for independent evidence tied to that model rather than general claims about the brand.
  6. Assess resale on comparable watches. Use sold prices for the same reference and condition where available; asking prices alone do not demonstrate what buyers actually pay.

Verdict

CORUM is a long-established Swiss brand with a distinctive catalog and current manufacturer-published technical details for its Admiral line. Its design identity is easier to establish than its brand-wide ownership record: the available official information does not prove reliability, service affordability or value retention. Buy a CORUM for the exact watch you want, and make the decision only after checking that reference’s specifications, seller terms and model-specific ownership evidence.
